Yeah, I've gone and done it. At 0820 yesterday morning, a dopy twat in a Ford Escort decided to make a right turn across my path in central Aberdeen. A locked front brake and you can guess the rest. I guess you guys with advanced training might have seen it coming, but I would probably have hit him if I'd remained upright.

My serious thanks go to Mr Gericke for the Master IV jacket (which is unmarked) and those lovely people at Hideout. All the gear did its duty and I'm absolutely unharmed. Can't say so much for the Blackbird - smashed nose and clocks, cracked front fender, both side panels cracked and broken, scored silencer, scored headlight and mirrors and thats just what you can see  I think it might be toast

On the bright side, the insurance (Admiral) of the dopey eejit in the car have admited liability and I'll be back on the road soon on my loaner bike :-: It will be either a Fazer thou, or an SV1000, which are nice :yo:

Bad luck mate...
At least YOU are ok, and will be getting back on two wheels very soon.
You never know, you may come out of it ok if it's totalled.

Just what the hell do you think you are doing :bang: ?

You have not made any application to the OFF CLUB, d34l you just go ahead and join on your own - this is not good enough !!!

Well, as you've done it, I suppose as leader of the Club I should welcome you aboard this exclusive band of riders, but be warned, I'm not at all happy the way you went about it and your renewal membership will be seriously looked at next year.

Yeah - I've been thinking about that. The Hein Gericke jacket is only a month old and whilst its probably serviceable it is still slightly scuffed at the elbow. My Hideout trousers will need checked and I suspect all the armour will need replaced at the very least. My lid didn't contact the ground as far as I recall, but there are marks on it that might be part of the accident (either that or they are stone chips). I'm confused c7u8

It is people that make false claims for expensive gear that is not really damaged that makes insurance companies put up everybodys premium. My advice to you is to make a claim for as much as you can as my insurance premium for the bird with e-bike is so cheap I don't care.

Or your underpants just before the accident?

Glad you're ok.
OK the current list is as follows:

1. Armour for leather jacket - I was wearing this under my Hein Gericke Master IV jacket.

2. Gloves - I was also wearing my favourite Hein Gericke Pathan gloves and these are worn in the palm.

3. My Master IV jacket - I dare say it is passable and functional, but I've only had it 3 or 4 weeks and there is some minor scuffing on the right elbow. I wouldn't claim if wasn't brand new.

I'm going to send some photos to Hideout to see if my trousers need looking at, but I actually doubt they will need any attention. My dilema is the lid - I don't recall this making contact the ground so I'm not sure I'm going to claim for that.

Smear some mud over the hemet and send a photo claiming its gravel rash, when you get paid out wash it off. You know which helmet I'm talking about don't you?

You should replace your helmet after every accident, as some damage may have taken place and it may not be noticable to you.... or find one at a car boot.d34l
