Steve, if the diaphram is tonking neat petrol into cyl #2 it could do some serious damage to the bore and rings. Suggest you don't run it again till it's fixed.

It's possible for the bore and rings to suffer excessive wear due to washout of the oil from the bore.

Triumph have a similar problem on the triples, where the secondary air injection fails open, and the O2 sensor in the exhaust says, more petrol ! more petrol ! Eventually all three cyls lose compression. to the point where it becomes more and more difficult to start, then ultimately won't start.

Hellllo and welcome, Brant. Now, threads in the help section are off-limits until the questions are answered.

Since this is clearly the case here........

Want a sweetie little boy? Eh? Eh?

Oh yes, please!

Aaah, thank God.....

I was really hoping for a mars bar, maybe? :lick:

Am I one of us now?

I'll start a new thread if it turns out my bird is still useless after the fix.

Look under the carbs and you will find 3 small bolt heads that have cross heads cut into them. Under the forth will be a pipe.
That pipe is the vacuum pipe which goes to the petrol tap. It operates a diaphram which turns on th epetrol tap.
It is very common for that pipe to either come off or worse, be fitted back to the tap wrongly.
Thank you.

Thank you very much.

I owe you a beer.

was thinking with all this work under the tank i hope you still have the baffles fitted either side of the tank under the infils. these affect your running at speed, no effect to bike standing still.
