3 years comes around fast so I should be getting the call soon to do the RoSPA re-test. Any suggestions as to how I could get a bit of feedback before I get to doing it?

I've contacted the local RoSPA group and they've been helpful but I'm not sure I want to join up just to get a bit of feedback.

You need some time with a gritty straight talking Diploma Holder

Joining the local group unfortunately isn't for everyone :p

Be honest with yourself - do you have any bad habits, are you fully aware of what's going on around you and are you in control at all times?

Finally if your examiner turns up on a black bird which quite frankly looks like it belongs in a skip - then don't be too worried to challenge them on your debrief in McDonalds at Ower services.................... g0551p

Bob,

Thanks for the reply. I'm in the Poole/Bournemouth area and I've done the rounds a bit with the local IAM and RoSPA groups including RoSPA South over your way. Not really looking to join a group. Just like to have a bit of pride in my motorcycling and stay safe.

Very self critical me but it helps to have someone point it out. Bad habits, yes. In control at all times, no.

That's what got me into trouble last time! Yes, I've done the test from Ower, Bridport and Poole with a different policeman each time. Kept me on my toes.

We could kill two birds with one stone here, how about a bimble out one, very soon, Sunday morning also with Dave Baglee as he's just about to go for his Diploma?

If you want to do it can I get you to arrange with Dave and meet up at mine which is almost in the middle of you two?

You'll find Dave here

You'll get me on
advancedtraining@btinternet.com
Plus Dave's got my number

Fairb i admire your approach to this, looking for something extra to get you prepared for test.

Bob P hits the nail on the head. I am involved in groups and it is great and i gain a lot from it. However when i go out of the group for training or assessment it is a different ball game. Bob refers to it as "gritty" which i interpret as being straight to the point without any of the more softly softly approach you can get from friends and colleagues.

Also within groups they can all become clones of the most opiniated within the group. Going to a highly qualified individual will take you out of the loop and you will have your eyes opened a bit more.
