Love those metal sculptures.....especially the longboat.
You're fast turning into the Scottish Squag.....but in a good way. A Roving advocate for Scottish tourism...and as a Scot, you're making me homesick..!
You've got to remember, Squag IS the Irish Tourist Board....You've gotta go and see 'em, for real! The pictures don't do 'em justice.
Part of the impact comes from the surprise of seeing them, close-up, for the first time.
It's like watching a rock concert on telly, then going to a live gig. Two, entirely different experiences.
As for me being a Scottish Squag - but in a good way....
...I'll have to go and lie down to think about that one...!
...Homesick? .....You know what to do.
Thanks, Jeffa. Glad you enjoyed it, and, aaah, yes! Thanks again for reminding me - imagine what it must have been like to see a bed of mercury! Quite a sight, eh?Thanks D A, great write up and pics of your trip. I seem to remember as a kid I visited a lighthouse on the IOM, somewhere in my memory I recall being told the mirrors floated on Mercury .
I visited here a couple of weeks ago.
