I would do Mick but with Garmins change of policy re map licences I will not be buying any more of their products.
Currently have 5 garmins which have always worked brilliantly and I would happily recomend to anyone, but if the firm is so hard up they need to squeeze a few extra sheckles out of folk they can go without my money in future !
Still, perhaps a nice kind sole will give me one to try ! LOL !!

Heard abou this from the guys on the US GTR forum... A couple of them having seen the said beastie, I wont be bothering...

Seems its the replacement for the Zumo 400, which was taken from service last year in the UK, which means it is a "buget" unit using the Nuvi chassis, with a waterproofed casing...

The ones who have seen it dont think much of it..

Hope that if of help Mick.

Best wishes,

Rolfy

Buy a red bike and you'll have time to do an oil painting for future reference

Bwahaaaaahhaaaaaa

Just had an ex bird rider who now also has a GTR, around at our place, and he says the Black GTR's are faster than the Silver ones....

Some shit never changes....

Cheers,

Rolfy

Following my argument with Garmin re map licenses, I now can load any Garmin map onto any garmin owned by me. But no thanks to garmin, tips came from a GPS users forum, brill.

I bought a 2610 ( yes, I know, it's steam driven, but it still works :p ) I got it new for ?130, which was hundreds cheaper than when it first appeared. It was being replaced by the Zumo 550, ISTR that was in excess of ?450 at the time.

Perhaps, given time, it'll come down in price. Whether it's any better than the unit it replaces remains to be seen, I suppose.

Well I don't know anything about the new map license issues but I've always preferred garmin over TomTom. I currently use a garmin nuvi 300 in the car (the battery lasts forever when it's off-charge!) but I'd like to get a zumo which I can use on both the bike and car (then I can pass the nuvi onto the missus for her car). Blimey though, bike units are SO much more expensive than car ones ain't they? The price of waterproofing I suppose?

Speaking of Which, Garmin have just released a new map update..

mite be a good time to test the key gens ...

@ C .. garmin have now changed policy on purchasing updates, before you could update two units with the one map, now you have to buy the update for every unit .. greedy people :bang:

City Navigator Europe 2009 Update Is Here
