Burgundy turned out to be Candy Glory Red. Carburettors turned out to be Injectors and the soft throw over luggage turned out to be a full set of WingRack 2 Givi boxes....all unused, with a built in brake light. Some work done, ( parts from Jaws M`cycles, in glorious Leigh) and some ( a lot ) of tech. help from forum Jaws, re the `loom mod`. All electrics, horn, lights, indicators in full working order. The only item playing up is the Datatool gear change indicator. Shows 0 in neutral, but goes in to spasm and wont display a number when put into any gear ( either static, or with the back wheel moving).....any ideas?..... before I contact Datatool,....... they might try to sell me new one. More photos under Owners Bikes > "£2k Barn Find"
thnx

Might need recalibrating. Instructions are on the datatool web site.

I honestly wouldn't bother with the gear indicator apart from remove & bin
I have never known one work properly for more than a few days & you don't need it anyway

Thnx, hadn’t thought of that, will take a look.
The instructions will probably say you need a ‘reset tool’ or similar. You don’t, a match or similar does the job.

Recalibrating is simple When you have the instructions.

.my second Bird came with an Acumen gear indicator and it worked perfectly. While I don’t think I would put one on a motorised cycle I did quite like it and found it useful at times.

Don't think with my lame riding style I've ever been in a position were I thought 'one more gear' and not had one!

Apart from the Wing Rack it looks good.

True, that‘s why I don’t want to replace it. And..it’s old kit.

Trouble with the WR is that removing the tail piece is a pain. However, it is what it is and I ain’t taking it off.

Get rid of the scaffolding and get a SW Motech Quicklock rack system.
