Has anyone got a good recipe for 1997 Candy Muthos Magenta in Tamiya paints?

The only info I found online suggested something line 10 parts red, 1 part silver, which I just know won't look right.

Because they were out of stock of red and it hasn't been despatched yet. I have everything complete except the body panels.

Cant do you a paint mix but I think Toyota do a very similar colour on some Avensis cars I have seen. Might be worth a look? :dunno:

some halfords stores can mix paint for most motorcycles so long as you have the colour code,worth a try?

I poured 5ml of red (X-7), added about 10 drops of silver (X-11). More or less what the instructions said. Then added a few drops of blue (X-14) to dull it to more magenta.

Seems about rightish I guess, but knowing how varied photos of my real bike look in different lighting this photo may not prove much:

Considering it's apparently a '97 carb Bird, why would the XX's be black? Mine are grey/silver in real life.

My girlfriend got the kit on ebay delivered from somewhere foreign, but this shop gave me excellent delivery service on paints and brushes. I can list the required paint numbers it you want them.

it may be because it's bloody hard to get a "match" the Red is particularly hard to get right and the cost would possibly be a lot higher, :dunno: hope I'm not too far out!! h1d1ng2

I'd also feel a right tit going down Halfords, asking for a colour match, and saying I want 50ml in a pot.
