Really is about time they stopped letting children and those with a child's outlook on life getting up close to a gun..
Which means getting rid of 100% of the guns in the USA..
I have known and worked with 100's of septics ... I have known possibly 4 or 5 I would trust with something more lethal than a pea shooter

Sad, sad story seems to be all to common and not just in the states, firearms are a very empowering device unfortunately that emotion can rule the heads of some of the incompetents that wield them.
It’s an old adage that states “If you want to test a mans character, give him power”, and unfortunately we see the wisdom of that here.

As some of you may know I have an autistic son.
He can be really challenging at times and difficult to reason with.
Meltdowns can be very traumatic for both parent and child but there are techniques to assuage a childs anxiety.
That said if I lived in the states knowing how trigger happy and unprofessional american police are the last thing I would do would be call them in to deal with an autistic child in crisis.
Maybe the mother had reached the end of her patience I don't know, but I will wager no parent will call 911 again.
The cop who let loose with his gun needs sacking... he hit the boy 4 times... how many did he loose off ?
Its a f#cking child FFS !

Bit of a sweeping statement to say “...how trigger happy and unprofessional american police are...”. A personal friend of mine was NYPD for over 20 years (he’s long retired now) and never drew his gun once. Ever. It’s like anything, you can’t tar them all with the same brush. It’s just unfortunate that the volume of idiots with a gun and a badge are coming to the forefront because of recent events.

As for the twat that shot the boy, he doesn’t need sacking. He needs prosecuting. What for, I wouldn’t like to say at this stage because we don’t have the full facts, but he shouldn’t be opening up on a child unless he was faced with a ‘shoot or be shot’ (or similar) scenario.

Kid might’ve had a sawn-off shotgun or a knife. It seems quite unlikely but, as I said above, we don’t have the facts.

And therein lies the problem with social media; the cop in question is already a murdering mo-fo yet we don’t even know his name. If the kid was unarmed, as we’re presently led to understand, and he was indeed having a mental health episode, then shooting him was way out of line and and the officer should be hit with a very heavy charge.

Again, we don’t have the facts and we only have his mother’s version of events.

It's a sad and tragic story.

But as ever I am left wondering if the full facts are being reported. Time will tell.

There was a case locally a year or two back where plod were massacred by the media for putting a spit hood on a nine year old with similar looking issues (although I'm no expert) - when the bodycam footage was released it was plain to see that plod really didn't have a choice and acted reasonably in the circumstances.

Which is exactly why it's best to reserve judgement for the time being.

Where is the fun in that !!!!
If no one comments on anything without being there it kinda knocks 90% of all conversations on the head :)

Danger being that news is regularly reported in a sensationalist manner and often as click bait.
