Watching the French open Tennis final, awesome match, how does Nadal consistently produce such performances? If you’re not watching it then you are missing brilliance.

Boring game.

I watched the women's World Cup England v Scotland football...much more entertaining.

Amazing how the skill levels have increased in recent years - the game was a very good standard. Also nice to see the game played without players rolling round and not arguing with the ref - even the very marginal penalty was accepted without comment. I can see why the ref gave it but in my opinion it should not have been awarded. Unsurprisingly the commentator and pundits as ever showed a remarkable lack of knowledge of the Laws throughout the game in line with the men's game.

How can you say the tennis was boring? Nadal was awesome & Thiem gave his all but just wasn’t good enough.

It is boring compared to 'my day'......Nastase, McEnroe, Geralitis (sic), Connors, Borg, etc. Real entertainment.

Yes they were exciting times but Nadal, Djockovic, Federer, Murray etc will be held in the same esteem by the fans of today.

Like pretty much all top level sport it is a sanitised version where power and cosseted professionalism are absolute requirements to get to the top. I am not saying there isn't skill, of course there is, but it is not the biggest factor in who is best any more.

If you can't serve at a zillion miles per hour you may as well stay at home.

The ONLY ball games I like are in bed with just the two of you (or more if your that way out) whenever I see ball games just about to start it's over or off with the box.

I disagree, players are serving faster so returns have to be faster & harder, Nadal is right handed but his coach (uncle Tony) made him play left handed as left handed players are harder to play against, when Nadal first came onto the scene he was built like a brick outhouse, as he’s got older he’s adapted his physique to suit his style of play, the man is a machine & a genuine humble guy.
