This is my first attempt, so excuse the lack of style.

Last weekend me and Bev went to Cologne to sample the world cup atmosphere. We had no time off work Friday or Monday, so we did the trip on Saturday and Sunday. We left Liverpool at 3.30 am sat morning, cought Dover Dunkirk ferry at 10 am. Arrived Cologne 6pm saturday.600 mile trip. Watched Italy v USA on the big screen in the fan fest area. Brilliant night.Left Cologne 7.30am Sunday morning, arrived home before midnight on Sunday. It was a spare of the moment decision to go and well worth it. Norfolk lines ferries are doing a return trip, rider and pillion and bike for ?36. Hotel in Cologne was ?60. Frightened to add up what I spent on fuel. The bird was fantastic. However, having done two 600 mile days I am considering the following additions;-

1) Bar risers. -Jaws
2) Melboy gel insert seat.
3) Two BMW system 5 flip lids.
4) Wider pillion foot pegs if possible to get hold of.

Does anyone think the above are worth while additions?

The bar risers and gel seat are what a lot of folk tend to do to their bikes. I ain't done that yet, but definately going for a gel seat in the not too distant future.

Mates got the risers and gel seat, and rates them very highly, and he does several long trips to Europe each year.

Not sure about the wider pegs. There was a thread on here about lowering the pegs, quite recently, think it's in the coffee shop.

Can't comment on the lids.
