Picked up this for not a lot of money last year, it had a good few jobs needing doing which kept me going over the cold winter nights.

Mileage was a bit on the highish side at 53k, but if the bird engine is anything to go by, then the 918 blade motor should be fine too I guess.

Happy with the end result and it turned out pretty ok if I do say so myself (and yes I know the weeds need doing on the patio) 8rfl@

Here's a link to the album to some more photo's of the following that was done: http://s930.photobucket.com/user/garybartley/slideshow/Hornet 900 Tidy up work

1. Painted engine casings
2. Painted wheels
3. New rear wheel and hub carrier bearings
4. Braided brake line for rear caliper
5. New stock exhausts fitted (akras were just to damn loud for me)
6. New rear mudguard
7. LED indys all round
8. Wheel rim tape and new tyre for rear
9. Tank pad and scottoiler
10. Oil & Oil filter change
11. K&N filter and air box flapper mod

Roll on the spring so I can get it out on the tarmac @tu*

Hornet 900

Nice bike Gary.I have just sold my Hornet 900 after 4 1/2 happy years.Compact light and nimble ,with a nice beefy 900 motor ....whats not to like..In my opinion the big Hornet is one of the most underated bikes out there mate..Enjoy..@tu*

I have to disagree, Guys.

Not about the work Gary. Excellent job and looks really well. I had the first 900Hornet sold in the UK having borrowed a 600 Hornet from the dealer for four months while I waited for the 900.The 600 was well tricked out with a micron can and I enjoyed it immensely. Light , flickable and a sound to die for from the micron When I swapped them over I was very disappointed with the 900performance. I was expecting the same result I had from a 918 Blade but found the Hornet version had lost the top end kick but seemed to have gained no extra torque. I got shot after 10 months with 8000 miles on the clock and lost an arm and a leg. I seem to remember they did not sell well in the first year and Honda reworked the engine and dropped the price ?1000 with ?500 cashback. Perhaps I was expecting too much with four months of anticipation. c7u8

Thanksamill for the feedback sir - appreciate it @tu*

I know what you mean about the top end performance, I found the power fades away alright but doesn't really bother me TBH.

Its nice and nimble and I like the look of it too :-0)

Paint them fork legs!!

They are next on my list - just too feckin busy at the mo, her indoors has me painting the bleeding bedrooms :)-(

Good spot though - fair play @tu*

When I finished the recent work I just gave the bike a quick coat of ACF50 and bunged it into the shed to sit out the bad weather 8ree!

ianrobbo1

good looking AND modest
I had a 600 traded it in for the bird, tried the 900 and found the same as the others have said, tried an X11 as well, decided on the bird for the faring, 900 a nice and comfy bike, but a disappointment of an engine, yours is certainly looking the dogs!! @tu*

I think he is hoping the oil will kill off the weeds seeing as his missus is too busy to keep up with the external housekeeping. b0x28rfl@

Took off the fork legs, tidied them up and gave them some fresh paint@tu*

everything back together and so decided to take advantage of the break in the weather at the weekend, and out for a short run. All went well until I returned to find the left fork seal is now pissing out oil - FFS :bang:

Off with the forks AGAIN and I also noticed the head bearings are crap

Hoping to get it all sorted over the next few evenings without too much expense brok3
