...Wiltshire Weekend...LUVVLY...!!!

Well…Just back from Avebury…What a weekend!!!!

(Pic 1) Stayed at a Travel Inn about 2 miles from Stonehenge, and it was so hot that, by the time we got there – all we wanted to do was sit down and cool off for a while!

(Pic 2) After checking in, we set straight off for Avebury (via God-knows-where…) and headed for the local pub – “The Red Lion” – beautifully thatched, as you can see. A typical, “touristy” country pub… :dunno:

(Pic 3) …and a pub that’s also very, very popular…with bikers!!!

(Pic 4) As you can see – they start ‘em young around here…good on ya, mate!! :yo:

(Pic 5) So…being in Avebury…We did the “posey” thing for the photies…

...Wiltshire Weekend....Continued...

(Pic 6-Pic 7) Before heading off for Silbury Hill and more “bits of old stuff" – like a 5,000 year-old burial site…Whoooo-HOOOO-oooohhh!!! SCA-ARY!!...and very impressive). As you can see, Wiltshire roads are heavily congested and very poorly maintained (not!) – getting there was abs-ol-ute-ly hell-ish (fun!) :}

(Pic 9) On Sunday, we meandered our way back home (Via God-knows-where)…Calling in at Birdlip – just for “old times sake”). Did we enjoy ourselves..???

Well…

As I said…What a weekend…!!!

You should have let Lumpy know you were down he would have been delighted to have made you a cuppa at the very least.

by all accounts the Red Lion is also the pub for the druids etc, after the solstace, well acording to merlin it was any way.
