Why is it that when you pop over to France for a couple of days, you find there markets, hypermarkets, grocers, are full of cheap, good quality fruit and vegetables, but when you go into a restaurant all you get is some tired, knackered old tinned French beans? :dunno:

Far be it from me to be synical but perhaps its cos your a brit in France ?

Every time I spend time on the continent I stop for lunch at small out of the way towns.. always get great service and a good meal..
I once asked why they could not do the same in big towns.. The answer was they can but as I was english it was accepted that I did not know what the difference between good and iffy grub was and therefore iffy was good enough !
