I have the need to turn my Panzer 180 degrees in the garage because it’s way to difficult (and bordering on dangerous) trying to reverse her in. I can do a 450 point turn in the garage but that’s time consuming and irritating.

sr71caspar suggested one of these:

However, on doing a bit of research, I stumbled across one of these:

The wheels on the BikeTek device are a good point, but I don’t really need to move the bike sideways, just spin her so the plate seems to be more suitable for my purposes.

Thoughts?

Side stand it. Bring the weight slightly to yourself and spin it on the stand. It’ll slowly dig a hole in the floor tho. Oh and there’ll be haters for this method too saying metal stress etc. So buy something expensive to keep me out the dog shite ;)

Those plate things are a pain in the arse.
In our local club must me 5 or 6 members have owned them.. They have all taken an early bath for one reason or another
If you have a smooth floor the bike tec one is the better option BUT!!
You really need a couple of 20mm bits of board too to use as a sort of ramp to lift the bike
The deck of it is 25mm high plus 7mm thick.. You will have to be pretty strong to get the bike on the centre stand unless you raise said bike a bit

Two bits of sheet steel with grease buttered between them would do just as well and a lot cheaper than the turntable thing.

Tried that and it's fine with the little Triumph but not happening with the Panzer.

The floor is reasonably level so will go with the BikeTec. I've read several reviews and all have said about the timber needed front and rear but I'm hoping I can manage without that faff. The plate has all positive reviews, so I'm a bit disappointed to read that the plate is shite.

No. Just, no.

If you have a disc type, then while it's on the centre stand, you have to be able to lift the front wheel by pressing down on the back and keeping your feet on the floor.
I can't lift mine!
So if you can't lift yours then it won't work for you.

Having used both I can say in all honesty both are shite if you cant get the bike on its stand :)

The bike tec one wants to move around as you put the stand down the flat disc thing is a bit flimsy and both are higher than they need to be making putting a heavy bike on the stand a right royal pain

My solution that been kicking around in my head for a couple of years is a disc on bearings sunk into the floor so its flush, not quite sure how to do that yet but it would be similar to the disc above but without the unwanted height

My mate bought a lazy Susan bearing from Simply Bearings 1000 lb rated for about a tenner attached a bit of 3/8 round plate and let it into the floor, worked a treat.

Panzers are a bit like the Tigers, the gun turret sticks out @ little too much in the garage. Back her in to drive straight out, scares the s - - -t out of the Russians and the Sherman’s. Failing that, sell and get a Blackbird, quicker,
faster and easier to park.…and it’s a one man crew.

Which part of “it’s way to difficult (and bordering on dangerous) trying to reverse her in” in the very first sentence of the very first post is not clear? My drive is on an incline and needs resurfacing, so reversing her in is not an option.
