Hi, am new to touring abroad. Next year July/August me and the girlfriend will be ferrying Plymouth - Santandar. My initial thoughts were to travel up through France catching the Roscoff ferry back. However would I be better off staying in northern Spain/Southern France. and catching the Santandar ferry back. Better weather/better roads, more to see?? I don't know. Have somewhere between 7-10 days and will be staying anywhere cheap. Any throughts from anyone with experience appreciated. Thanks all

Me and my mates have done northern France - Brittany and Normandy. Nice wide open roads, beautiful beaches, not much traffic and not too far to worry about your arse not talking to you for a year upon your return.

We camped which was very cheap. Highly recommended.

Touring.

Hi Mark.
I'm sure you will have a good time on your holiday, and if you decide to travel down to my neck of the woods (which is Malaga way), give me an email off line as I can arrange some B/B for you, and even take you on a ride out to show you some blinding roads.
There's plenty of of hospitality waiting for you here!

touring in Spain?

Take the Plymouth- Sandander ferry and enjoy a pint or two and a good meal. the biggest decision you have to make is whether to turn right (west) or left (east) when you get there.

West along the coast and then south into the Picos de Europa mountains takes you into fantastic biking country, Potes, Panes, Riano, Fuenta De are all great places to stay in the mountains.

East will take you into the Pyrennes and again hundreds of miles of great biking roads, look at Michelin maps, pick a green route (scenic), you cannot fail.

or try an organised trip, eg www.ridespain.com; it'll cost you a bit more but all the hard work is done for you............just do it!! :neenaw:
