I cant agree on that as I have owned 4 efe's & loved every one, all day comfortable a lot more torque than a poxy bandit even in stock ish trim & dead easy to tune the nuts off if that's your thing, my last a Italian import gave 136bhp with minor tweaks (they had a bit more go than uk versions as stock)

Yes ground clearance is limited but they are no worse than anything else of the era & its the pegs or centre stand that touch down first which is easily sorted , bloody expensive for a good one now which tells you how sort after they are

I agree on the cbr1000 a much under rated bike & great fun until the inevitable cam chain rattle starts up at around 40k, pug ugly to look at but great to ride in my view & yes I have had a few, the last I bought on a whim one Friday morning did 1000+ miles on by Monday night fully loaded up with camping kit & pillion, no complaints from either of us on comfort or go..... sold for a modest profit the next Friday as another Suzuki took my fancy

Goes to show how subjective opinions can be. I hated the thing with a passion for the reasons I stated

The CBR1000FK (not the jelly mould model which was pig ugly) I thought was a lovely looking bike, and I had an FK and then had an FN, both brought new and both sold with mileage in excess of 100,000 miles

Never had cam chain rattle, but did have starter chain clatter, which I had done on the FK but 30,000 miles later it was back and as Honda advised, its annoying but it won't get any worse, so I left it on both.

Very under rated, but it also made me appreciative of all 3 Blackbirds.

The spring of 2000 and the whole Y2K bullshit had died down.
The world wasn't going to implode after all, so off I went to Three Cross Motorcycles in Ringwood where I parted with £5k for a 750SS with Ducati Performance cans, K&N and a racing Eprom.
A week later and I had the airbox mod done (cut the whole top off). She made all of 84bhp but that wasn't the point. I got my arse kicked on the straights as all my mates had Jap 600's or 750's, but apart from one guy with a Kwacker ZX7R everyone else was easy meat in the bends.

Again personal opinion having owned 5 cbr1000's of varying ages, all were pug ugly imo, the last had linked brakes which I hated & still do but it was still much better at everything but top speed runs than the bird, the last one had 78k on it when I bought, according to the previous & only other owner the rattle had been there since 40k it was certainly no worse when I sold it at 89k

My Naomi is the only bike I've ever wanted to keep.

She was/is my dream bike from the moment I saw one on a ride out in '98. I didnt get one till '09. I did take one for a test ride in '07 and thought oh my god no! I'd either lose my license or my life! It's a fooking missile but was offered one for good money a couple of years later ('09).

She still is my dream bike. I just cant imagine being on anything else.

Oh, Naomi is my Blackbird. Named after Naomi Campbell as she too is a super black bird. :jaja-no:

A blue one would be more appropriate for Naomi Campbell. Boy does that woman have a potty mouth.

Is that a council house in the background?

A vile, despicable, ill-mannered, foul-mouthed woman with violent tendencies, anger management issues and the manners of a goat.

The only worthy of being named after that vile trout is the effluent that spews out of your arse and down the cackpot.

My beige one is called Millie.

Why Millie?

Naomi got her name a couple of years before I got her. I can't honestly say I was ever a Fan of the woman but I thought the name was funny, and it stuck. :jaja-no:
