Latest update on the old BSA :)

Shooting this morning to try it out, cant see much without a scope but still managed to pepper a 2" round target at 30yds with someone spotting for me

After about 50 pellets it started to settle down, I realized that as i had hot blued the barrel i had lost all the lead deposits, another 20 or so pellets and the difference was appreciable (another 150 or so and it should be settled and nicely leaded up)

So with 70 or so pellets through it and the action becoming smoother after every shot i decided it was chrono time but wasnt expecting great things .................... 11.1 to 11.2 ft/lb consistent pellet after pellet which is exactly where you want an old springer to be (y) (legal limit is 12 ft/lb for those that dont know)

More luck than judgement and I expect it to rise very slightly with use, I am well chuffed with that and have been walking around with a big silly grin all day :eusa_dance: just got to find a scope now !

SMK mentioned elsewhere is next up, the thing puts out a noisy rattly 6 ft/lb at the moment and I am hoping for a smooth quiet 9, wish me luck

Checked the BT app on my phone this morning to check that they are still coming next Wednesday and according to the app all good to go (y)

This afternoon the phone rang it was BT's The buck stops here department. It appears there is a glitch with their system and it has cancelled the order again, but the woman in the Buck stops here department is personally going to sort it and someone will phone me on Monday :BangHead:

Mad parrot was misbehaving as usual so it was mayhem as usual trying to hold a conversation with a yelling parrot on your shoulder isn't easy

I wish you had turned up…it started peeing down on the third and you woukd have got soaked. Your pointy things would have gone rusty As well.

Just to keep you in the loop, didn’t play too badly despite the rain that wasn’t forecast. Nice birdie on the par five fifth (I’ll confess I lost a ball off the tee - went for the tiger line down the narrowest part of the fairway that can’t be seen from the tee - a slight pull saw it interface with the gorse ) so ‘three off the tee’ therefore technically it was a six), decided on the seventh that we would pack up after nine as it was getting rather unpleasant…promptly birdied the eighth with a gorgeous lob wedge from just off the green. A thing of beauty.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

A classmate used that in an English essay and got slagged to bits for it, not sure why, but it was amusing.

Flew back from Ireland, drove home from Heathrow (last night) in the mighty Panzer. Kept my speed to about 65mph and had 61mpg; had 62.5mpg on the way there. Not bad for a 3 litre twin turbo car that's 150kg shy of two tonne.

Woke up (always a bonus) and then worked myself into a frenzy thinking about how useless the insurance company that are(n’t) dealing with our flood are being and how elite football has been destroyed by dirty money and lack of intervention by so called regulators that have massive conflicts of interests and are more interested in feathering their own nests.
