Finally got a schedule of works through from the building company the insurers have appointed to do our refurbishment.

Deep joy, been waiting weeks for this.

Only downside is that it is a complete and utter load of bollocks.

Will to live receding fast.

Went on tour of first ever water powered generating station completed in ireland in 1929. I might have been high in world ranking at the time too.
It now provides about 2% of demand but is very useful for responding to sudden demand.
It's listed in some international engineering achievements.

There's a 100 foot drop at the turbines which is the reason for the siting.

It think it was 33 workers died during construction and there were about 5,000 living on site.

And the Irish government still owe Seimens for the final payment!!

Woke up happy as yesterday was the last day of the financial year for my business and I can now submit annual accounts and tax returns. Why am I happy about this? Simply as it is something that is in my complete and sole control, I know exactly what is going on and I don’t need to rely on anyone else….everything else I have going on in my life at the moment is reliant on input from other people and they are all driving me nuts.

I shall be trimming my beard first though.

Last night, went to see Rammstein in Cardiff. Absolutely f'ing awesome, what a show!

It was reported locally that they were heard 11 miles away two nights previously when they played in Coventry. My ears are still ringing so hardly surprising.

While mulling over the world in general I couldn’t help but stare at and admire the hardwood parquet floor that was laid throughout the house when it was built and given a brief (at least I thought it would be) appearance since the damaged carpet was removed.. All done by hand, would still look fantastic with a sand and waxing.

They don’t build them like that any more.

Telly is too low, unless it's a house full of midgets; cables look like a dog's dinner; window sill ain't straight; that radiator is so 1970s.

I like the flooring.
