This morning I made a nice bulb holder bracket from 10mm flat bar for the gunstock lamp and painted it, the steel was actually cheaper in B&Q than from the local steel stockholders and was clean (figure that one out :nusenuse:)

Next I modified a one piece scope mount that arrived in the posties bulging sack to get proper eye relief on the Mercury (short scope rails) doing this saved me around 30 quid eg 15 for the good mount I bought as opposed to 45 for a cheap reasonable cantilever one to get exactly the same result

This afternoon I went to test the Mercury as it would have been rude not to...... after the most recent strip/rebuild its now spot on :aaaaa:eg once zeroed a five shot group at 30yds about the size of my thumbnail, the same at 40yds and only marginally bigger at 50yds
Not bad on a windy day and that's probably better than it would have been capable of new even though its now packing a lot more power (y) .................. what next? ... meteor, jaguar, stingray, smk or that German piece of crap that is cluttering up the gun room? ... you decide

Yesterday actually…went to The Hornby Museum….an interesting couple of hours, not least as it was the first time Mrs B had been allowed to enter as a ‘senior’ :sisi1 .

The Scalectrix cars don’t fly off the track anything like as much as they used to….but then again they didn’t used to start from £49.99 either.

I have been thinking about rekindling my boyhood hobby of building kits, think it is time to scratch that itch. Quite fancy doing something like a WW1 biplane (they always look fantastic to me) in something like 1:24 or bigger if I can find one if I can find one, or maybe a Swordfish.
There is model kit of a Honda Blackbird....

Spent 70 minutes on ‘chat’ with Three about a call charge of £9.68 when I phoned Squag over in the Emerald Isle. I told them as I have unlimited calls and texts it should be included. They argued that Ireland is in Europe and I was correctly charged. Ireland is included in my data roaming so I disagreed saying they can’t include it for data roaming and exclude it for calls. “Anyway they all speak English so it should be included” I told them. Off he went to his supervisor and she came back to me saying the same. So I told them to cancel my contract and amazingly I got a refund. Result.
Did you ask her if she had big tits?

Today I have seriously considered getting out of bed but have managed to avoid it so far.

I removed both headlamps from the MH and buffed them up to remove most of the hazy crazing. They’re good enough for MOT next month now.

Also, I want to take it out for a drive tomorrow as I think I feel able to cope with manual gears and handbrake. Only time will tell.

Had the little one all day as the enemy was out on a run (50k fecking lunatic)

Went the gunshop where the small person got spoilt despite it being busy, had to laugh she kept saying "Oooh i like that one" when looking at the air rifles and pistols, not one rifle she liked was under 800 quid and all the pistols she liked were in the 2-300 quid range ..... that kid is going to make a happy man very old someday

We were going to the blitz weekend at the Staffordshire regiment museum this afternoon but the weather killed that idea, maybe tomorrow !

Rebuilt the Meteor and begun to oil the stock thats probably had 4 or 5 coats now but will need more

Cleaned out and generally sorted the Webley jaguar ready for the rebuild once the piston seal comes, nothing else needed there

Stripped and rebuilt the hw77 with a new spring, that seems right now and i will test tomorrow then if all good it can go back to its owner

Weeded the path and patio

Helped the bloke next door with more fence panels

No need to avoid the enemy today .... she still isnt talking to me :meparto:(y)

That doesn't mean I am free

We ventured out with the Motorhome today, first trip out this year probably. I had a few aches and pains when I initially needed to change gear and release the handbrake. Clearly I’ve been protecting my breastbone and the 9 inch incision while at home and some ‘driving’ movements are still a bit difficult - but then it’s only 50 days since I was laid out under general anaesthetic and opened up like a spatchcock chicken, so I’m not doing too badly.
I took miss Molly for a couple of nice long walks up on Dartmoor so she had a nice change of scenery once more. 95DC7028-B0BC-4C06-87B7-C5D5F8897529.jpegD8F4868D-6054-4D72-8D55-FB2CC4B77D33.jpeg6D29B7EF-3F5E-4AF4-AD8E-CFCE21B3CA88.jpeg

After an even worse than normal sleepless night decided I might as well get up early and enjoy the golf course at its quietest.

Played like a Norman Wisdom for fifteen of the holes, played like Greg Norman for the other three, two birdies that were very close to eagles and an eagle three on the 502 yard eighteenth, close to an albatross, second hit the flag and finished two feet away.

I can post a schematic upon request. :eusa_whistle:
