Got on The Thanet Loop bus service (every 8 minutes my arse) and visited

  1. Margate - still the absolute dump I remember from twenty odd years ago, never mind,The Turner Contemporary makes stopping off worthwhile….closed all week for new display to be put up …always check website before travelling :eusa_whistle: .Did a few re-enactments from The Nags Head Jolly Boys Outing then rapidly moved on to
  2. Broadstairs……really lovely, a real gem. Lunch then took the high coastal path and walked to
  3. Ramsgate - much better than Margate and it will probably be nice in twenty years as the seafront develops to match the marina which is pretty nice

Spitfire Museum then Manston Museum (both on same site). Highly recommended, spitfire (and Hurricane) loads of memorabilia and stuff that personalises the displays, Manston goes right back to WW1 on the military side and loads of commercial stuff. Some fantastic exhibits, a shame that some are of necessity stuck outside and are slowly deteriorating, including a Lightning.

Biker friendly as well!

An hours work at the shoot first thing and a couple of hours plinking afterwards that was good reset for a what was a slightly frazzled brain (long story:()

Cleaned the plugs and charged the battery on a 80's Z250, its now running in a fashion but the bloke wont put his hand in his pocket for a service and carb clean :nut:

After a little pondering I came to me what is making my BSA Mercury inaccurate so sorted that (i think)

5 minutes after locking the shed and finally sitting down it occurred to me how to fit a hw77 seal to an smk piston for the project gun so I was off again to test the theory ..... it seems to work fine but is currently a real Heath Robinson job with an old seal and various washers etc, that will need properly engineering at some point but the major bonus is it will short stoke the gun (4mm or so) and hopefully make it more efficient ................. now in search of a decent old barrel for it

Spent 70 minutes on ‘chat’ with Three about a call charge of £9.68 when I phoned Squag over in the Emerald Isle. I told them as I have unlimited calls and texts it should be included. They argued that Ireland is in Europe and I was correctly charged. Ireland is included in my data roaming so I disagreed saying they can’t include it for data roaming and exclude it for calls. “Anyway they all speak English so it should be included” I told them. Off he went to his supervisor and she came back to me saying the same. So I told them to cancel my contract and amazingly I got a refund. Result.

Visited Sandwich, an absolute gem. Similar to Arundel but without the traffic and chain eateries. Delightful.

Resisted the temptation to have a sandwich, went for cake instead. Chocolate and orange, very nice.

Waited for the postie and his bulging sack, 11.30 today slack bas***d  our normal postie is here well before 10 most days!

So after (finally) getting my parcel is started on another shotgun stock lamp and have all the wood butchering done (y) next up is a bit of metalwork to hold the bulb holder and then I suppose I will have to brave B&Q for the electrickery bits

The last one sold within about an hour so I will advertise this one for a bit more and see how it goes :D

On a night shift tonight! :)

Just heard that three new vehicles are to be ordered.

We're currently using a mix of Shogun and Shogun sport.

The suggestion for the new vehicles is, I kid you not, Dacia Duster.

I've already mentioned that I believe they can cause a poorly ankle:)

Yesterday actually…went to The Hornby Museum….an interesting couple of hours, not least as it was the first time Mrs B had been allowed to enter as a ‘senior’ :sisi1 .

The Scalectrix cars don’t fly off the track anything like as much as they used to….but then again they didn’t used to start from £49.99 either.

I have been thinking about rekindling my boyhood hobby of building kits, think it is time to scratch that itch. Quite fancy doing something like a WW1 biplane (they always look fantastic to me) in something like 1:24 or bigger if I can find one if I can find one, or maybe a Swordfish.

Came home. Intended to,stop,at Sissinghurst Gardens that were scheduled to open at 10am on t’interwebs for,a,wander and lunch, got there at 10.06 to,see a sign saying ‘opening at 11am today’….only just managed to do an impressive twenty seven point turn in the narrow entrance lane to escape before completely hemmed in.

While on the way home mulled over why places so close to each other can be completely different in just about every way imaginable…Margate struck us as being absolutely awful, couldn’t get out fast enough, Broadstairs and Sandwich both places where I would happily live.

I find Tamiya kits far better than the old Airfix or (god forbid) Revell kits as parts tend to actually fit and the detail is brilliant
I was looking the other day myself and quite fancy doing the Sopwith Camel (y)
