I had a lovely visit to the Cotswold Sculpture Park near Cirencester, lovely place to visit and if you are feeling rich you can buy an exhibit or two, prices ranging from £200 to £50000. pocket money to some of you. There's a cafe selling drinks, cakes and light lunch. lots to see.20260702_112426.jpg

Golf Society day at Ashford Manor, best gross score by a mile, didn’t even finish in the top three, won by someone playing off 36.

Hmmmmmm…….

Highlight of my day was holing what we reckoned was a 70 foot birdie putt. By the time I left the bar it had increased to 130 feet. And will be even longer tomorrow.

The M25 has been awful lately between around the new ‘improved’ A3 junction and the M3 so I left ultra early….and sailed through, arriving at 9:30am for my 13:00:tee time…..

eScooter? hopefully just being used on your private land, wouldn't want the police chasing him for illegally riding it on the public highway

The Police are really clamping down on illegal escooters & off road motorbikes, they used their car & rammed an escooter just last week, (well done Reform Council)

Did the supermarket shopping today instead of the normal Thursday.

Why do so many people shop on a Friday? Pretty much deserted early Thursday mornings, really busy at the same time today.

Maybe it’s something to do with ‘getting the weekend shop in’ in past times when food didn’t keep as well as it does now and maybe storage facilities were lacking in many places (such as Yorkshire)

Cut the grass, weeded me gravel at the back and weed killed the more stubborn stuff. Made up an adapter plate for me Dillon 450, fixed a leak in me hozelock hose reel, cleaned and polished (who was a dirty girl) Ethel the Enfield ready for the weekend. Assembled a nice salad with some Jersey royals. Gonna have that with a cold cider.

Life is good………………Well it beats the alternative I reckon.

A very satisfying trip to Wakefield, not for the purchase but, on my way through Notton I noticed a scamera van, on my way home a Bimmer X5 pulled alongside at the lights, as we set off he tried getting ahead as the road narrows in to one, he was obviously pissed off at failing to pass me, so he hung close to my bumper, if I’d braked he’d have hit me, as we came to Notton he went on to the wrong side of the road & roared past me almost hitting the scamera van, probably doing around 60 in a 30, think there may be an X5 going on sale soon.

Watched two excellent games of rugby. Gave the Wales game a swerve as did most Welsh fans judging by the size of the crowd.
Can't see any way England are going to beat South Africa in Joberg but I'll hop back on the sofa and find out!

Amazed that anyone would think an X5 would out accelerate a Dishcloth.

Not going to happen.

Sat in the pool bar watching the world go by. A rather scantily clad middle aged lady & her husband sat at the table next to us. Lady must be topping 130kg, not the best view.

Before the obvious question is asked, no. Her husbands moobs are far bigger.

Murder mystery night at mate’s golf club. Good fun but impossible to work out what happened without numerous white boards and Cray super computer.

My instincts said that the wrong person had been murdered but I was outvoted.

Should have stuck to the philosophy of a very wise man in my signature below.

Last night I heard an interesting story about a friend’s son. I have known the son since he was about six, he is now 38. Over the years I have been a bit of a mentor to him, encouraging him from a 13 or 14 year old to chase his dream of being an engineer in an F1 team. Despite getting a motor sport related degree in aerodynamics he never quite made it but has earned a decent living in the motorsport industry. He also had a dream of owning a Lotus as he loved the engineering - he did fulfil that dream earlier this year when he bought a Lotus Elise.

So proud of him, a good level headed family man, a credit to his parents.

Three weeks after buying the Lotus he got a NIP for speeding on the QE2 Bridge at Dartford on his way to work.

Unfortunately by the time he received that NIP he had committed exactly the same offence in the same place another two times. Gone from a clean licence to nine points in three weeks.

What a stupid, irresponsible chap.

Who is now back to driving his spawn of the devil diesel Astra to work.
