Yesterday actually…chuckled at the long line of motorhomes parked overnight on the seafront ignoring the numerous ‘no overnight stays’ signs where the owners will be waking up to parking tickets on their windscreens. Hopefully this morning as well. There are four miles of seafront but they choose to stay in the one area where it is prohibited. It has got to the stage where the council are budgeting to install bollards to stop this practice.

i have nothing against motorhomists in general, but I abhor the ‘me myself and I’ culture that so many have these days.

We have that problem with one of the cemeteries up here. The signs clearly say "No Overnight Parking" and "Do Not Block" at the cemetery gate, yet the selfish fuckwits ignore it routinely because there's next to no enforcement here.
Funerals have been delayed because the car park needed to be cleared of motorhomes and/or campervans.
It's not as if there aren't plenty of other places on the island for them to park up.

I can understand wanting to park next to a beach….but a cemetery?
Maybe in Norfolk I suppose….

We have parked close to a cemetery in France a number of times, there are often spaces made available. The residents have never made an issue of us being there. ;)

Ordered a 5t skip for Thursday, sorting my garage out, might find a 10mm socket if I’m lucky.

I asked the local council as I wanted a skip in the road
They said, as long as you have clothes on …. I was good to go !

Woken up.

Always a bonus.

I hate Thursdays. We supply all the groceries for five households for various reasons, mega delivery between 7 and 8 am then straight down to the supermarket for the fruit and veg. Then sort it all out and distribute, work out the individual bills after that.

One if the households is an elderly lady on the other side of the road who is on her own. Started helping her during Covid and it sort of just continued. Happy to do that, she is a nice soul that rarely goes and doesn’t take the mick (unlike some during Covid, but that’s another story). A few weeks ago her daughter was visiting her (she lives quite a distance away) and she appeared in my doorstep. She thanked me for what we do for her mum ………which was nice…..but then started going on about ‘what happens to the points you must get for doing her shopping, my mum should get those ’.

Sometimes I just wonder how the minds of some people work.

Anyway, going back to Covid I was asked to call on a medically vulnerable couple to get their shopping for them…….when I turned up all they wanted was 400 cigarettes from the supermarket. That didn’t happen.

Me, myself and I.

Doesn't surprise me, our local, charity run outdoor swimming pool was left in a right state over the weekend with a sea of rubbish littering not just the pool area but also the grass area outside. From what I'm told, it took the lifeguards 3 hours to clean up the mess on Saturday. I'd guess it was a similar story Sunday too.

Human beings are shite really aren’t they!

Back to Motorhomes, there will be some baddies amongst them obviously, but everyone I know has a waste bin in the motorhome and the usual daily empty packets and uneaten foodstuffs will be kept in it. Then disposed of correctly when the opportunity arises. Our bin is actually in the door itself.similar to this. IMG_2164.jpeg

So what does happen to the points then? :)

It's the future:(

Yesterday in the supermarket someone had left their McDonald's drink carton on a shelf, unlikely to be a kid as it was too high up.

The ferals are breeding and teaching the new brood. The fact that these ferals can afford a motor home doesn't make them any less feral.
