Just back in our hotel rooms after a pleasant dinner.

After the meal withdrew to the bar for a relaxing drink before retiring for the night.

Hotel not busy, group of four German businessmen nearby wished us good evening and chatted away quietly among themselves.
As did other guests throughout the bar.

Unfortunately the two very, very loud perfect examples of the best of British at the bar gave a stirling performance.

Having been treated to a detailed description of a recent visit to Thailand, including the use of sex toys, a detailed resume of all that's wrong with the company they work for and various other topics equally impolite in mixed company (all broadcast at high volume) I finally got fed up enough to engage DK mode :)

Stood next to them, thanked the barman for his service and apologised that we could not remain in the bar as we wanted, as the language and topics being broadcast around the bar at volume were in my opinion offensive and my wife was not impressed either.

It seems they had no problem understanding I was referring to them and appeared ready to argue.

I wondered why they suddenly went quiet, only to hear my son speak up just behind me. I'm guessing that the sight of a rugby forward looking like he would happily tuck one under each arm yet smiling as he said "what a pair of dickheads", gave them pause for thought.

I explained we were heading back to our room but as they'd kindly clearly identified the company they worked for I'd sort out an appropriate email tonight, which I've done.

Having often seen this sort of behaviour at UK airports at 06:00 in the morning and even worse later in the morning I'm left wondering why the rest of the world doesn't simply ban UK citizens from leaving our shores.

Why do we have so many of apparently adult age who make Kevin and Perry seem sophisticated.

Rant over for the night ;)

And thanks to DK for the inspiration.

Us Brits know how to let ourselves down. Malc and I were having a holiday in France and decided to stay a couple of nights on our way in and out of the in Cherbourg, we found a lovely cafe to have some breakfast in, we were sat there on the second morning enjoying the view and a lovely breakfast when some English lads turned up who were on a booze cruise, and their behaviour was embarrassing, we apologised to the staff who said it happens frequently.

Phone call from Emma “Dad, I can’t get the leg down on Penny” (pennine pathfinder camper) a quick look revealed a broken thingy, no probs, drove to Carlton & bought a replacement thingy for £10.99, took the leg off & eventually removed the broken thingy, started screwing the new thingy on the bar..,then stopped, bar is knackered, no problem, went back to Carlton & bought a new bar £26.99, tried removing the old bar which required the removal of a small dowel pin, nope not having it, decided to drill it out, nope not having it, brought it home to work on on Thursday as we’re off to the coast tomorrow, think I’ll get it with the angle grinder.
Cut the old bar off with an angle grinder, put new bar on pushed the spacer up & & fitted split pin, attached new thingy & lined it up with the framework, too wide for framework so had to splay the framework using mole grips, dropped it in & put the screws in, noticed spacer end wasn’t wide enough for the hole, took it all apart, bought some big washers from Screwfix, eventually got it all back together & fitted it back to the camper, next time I’ll buy her a replacement leg.

I wish you well with the smoking.

i have twice seen at very close quarters the almost inevitable outcome and wouldn't wish that on anybody.

Taken a long time and a few £ of professional help to get there but fingers crossed it’ll generate my next £10m….

Elsecar’s not far from me, it’s where we filmed our appearance on Bargain hunt.

Its a great place for a wander around for a couple of hours, i like the antique centre where my mate had a couple of cabinets but the prices can be high (the cabs cost a lot to be fair) i have had a couple of bargains though as some traders dont always know what they have so always take a couple of hours to look properly (y)

We found a lot of vastly over priced tat & our expert (Mark Stacey) was useless, he had us buy a Whitefriers vase at least £40 over it’s value, Bev said “we’re not going to make a profit” he said “it’s not about making a profit it’s about making a show.
We have been a few times & bought a couple of decent ornaments

Flushed out all the brake fluids on CBF.

I found out how to bleed lower nipple on r.h. caliper after a lot of searching. Doesn't seem to mention it in service manual. It has ABS.

You press the back brake pedal.

2 mile walk with the Health walkers, then coffee at sports centre.

I received an email from my dentist a few days ago to remind me I had an appointment, when I read it I noticed it was with a different dentist, I thought my old dentist must have left.

This morning day of my appointment, I had a phone call from my dentist to let me know they had messed up my appointment and booked me with the wrong dentist, so new appointment booked for May

U3A monthly meeting, very interesting, and I won a box of chocolates in the raffle, I had just told my friend I had only won once in the 9 years I had been a member and then they called out my number.

Chased mad parrot around sitting room
