442, pressure breeder, tiny air bubbles, you're sucking air either through the nipple thread, or the tube on the nipple is not tight enough. Ptfe tape on nipple thread.

Yesterday eve, settled the new tyres In for a 100 miles, on bike 1 the red one.

Refitted the nose cone, after it's T?V, where they removed all the plastics, for some reason, and then just appear to have "thrown" them back on . I found that the ram air duct on the left hand side had nothing holding it in place (the plastic clips were missing), and the left hand duct wasn't seated correctly either, and as you looked through the intakes in the cone, you could only see half of the duct.

Yesterday I removed the nose cone to sort my amnesiac clock have a general shufty at the condition of stuff hidden in there. I expected a green mess on the IP film but all was perfect except that the screws needed nipping up.

Popped the LH fairing off to have a look around and did the chain and sprockets as well.

Today I will remove the nose cone again to recover the rubber screen nut that fell off last night when I tried to refit the screen. Bollocks.

Checked the pressures ready for the commute tomorrow. I've not ridden since the new ones were fitted (apart from the ride home in a monsoon).

I always check them as I've found they're normally wrong. I tried a new tyre place and ........

Friday, cleaned both birds after the bash weekend., quick polish. Tyre pressures, oil, chains checked. Saturday, took bird 2 for its MOT, Er... What a surprise (not), it passed. Then went for a short 70 mile ride. Blast those Pirelli Angel GT's are good, really can't fault them so far.

Repaired the antique satnav (garmin quest ll) not locating or retaining satellites, quick spray of contact cleaner on the flip aerial connection and its instant sat location now. So I made a little bracket to support the flip aerial to stop it bouncing and wearing the aerial contacts. This bouncing seemed to cause a dirt / high resisting build up preventing clean connection.

If it ain't broke don't fix it, if its fixable no excuse to bin it.

Talking of which
cobbled together a power socket to power the camera when it's dry, as they don't do a live cable feed from the battery for some reason. Prolly work in the wet as well, but easier to use it's own battery for that, feck all to see when it's raining anyway :-0)

Left work this evening in the city centre and turning round the first corner the bike started spluttering and died. Rolled to a stop and tried her again, started for a moment and then died. Off with the tank and checked the vacuum hose - it had fallen off.

Tried it back on but seemed quite a loose fit, so I cut it back a bit and it fitted tighter. Sure enough she fired right up and I was on my way again in less than 15 mins.

Great spin home, weather is savage out there still - happy days!

exactly what happened to mine last weekend. try a small cable tie round it. you might need somebody to hold the tank while you do it, worked on mine so far...

think the bike getting very hot in this weather may also be a factor, pipe was nice and soft...
