Not a lot wrong with 208's but the weight of a Blackbird will wear them out quickly. Same for all supersport soft compound tyres.
I'm trying out the new compound D220 because I need more tyre life. So far, 1000 miles, been excellent in both wet and dry and no sign of wear yet. May post further one day, if I can be bothered.

For what it's worth......Dunlop only recommend 205's or 207's for the 'Bird. I can confirm the 205's are shit but can't comment on the 207's.

No no Supabird, Dunlop recommend 205's, 207's and 220's. The 205's are way past their sell by date but are cheap, which may be why dealers will put them on second hand bikes if new rubber is needed for a sale. Info is from Dunlop 2004 trade catalogue.
The new 220 is designed for heavier bikes to give longer lasting wear but good levels of grip, but is it up to potato sack weights? :dunno:
