So I was running some tests on the bird
Suddenly it started to misfire.. and then died
Keep in mind this is a bike that has been in bits and slowly rebuilt over a loooooong time so I sort of expected some sort of issue

Pulled the tank off ( only had a spare one on and was not bolted down )
Air filter off... looked ok
Visual check of the carbs and linkages... looked ok
checked breathers and vacuum pipe.... looked ok
Pulled the plug caps off and checked spark... all looked ok
Pulled plugs ..... looked ok
Started checking loom, work I had done on modifying ignition circuit, cdi plug and wiring, all good

Sooooo..... Anyone wanna guess what the problem was ?

What's with you mate? Do you think this is a bike forum or something? Peeps like you do my head in. Take your perversions somewhere else where they will be appreciated. P.S. Definitely fuel anyway.

At a rough guess I would say that the transom flange had parted company with the splodge pin, usually caused by an operator putting diesel in the tank instead of petrol.
