Im trying to fit Oxford soft luggage to the Ace at present and have started to tear out what hair I have left.
I have watched the dvd which told me what was so feckin obvious about connecting the tail pack and the soft panniers to the bike, however what the dvd doesnt say is how to attach the two to the same bike at the same time. Do i use the underseat strap or not?

Wato Roy ..

I got the oxford 1st .. not sure if their any different to the others .. but .. i made up some bands from some elastic rope i had .. from the hoops at the bottom front .. to the rear foot pegs .. and some more .from the hoops on the rear (at the top i think) to the luggage hook thingy's under the seat area .. I never could suss out how ta use the strap under the seat .. so didn't bother with that .. i also made sure that the Velcro straps over the seat where just a tad to short (tight) before i attached the made up bands .. pulling them down tight over the seat .. also the Mrs used ta sit on them .. so i guess that was good enough .. hehehe did about 10k with that set up with no problems ..
hope that sort ov helps .:dunno: . hard ta explain ..

if you mean the velcro ones i think the 1 goes down first (to get the right height) then the seat goes on top (careful cos it takes a bit of slack up) then the 2 left over goes on top of the seat then the tailpack gets bungeed " to feck and back"

it is a mess around c7u8

When you watch the video it looks so neat. According to Oxford you should use the underseat strap for the panniers, attach the tail pack to the seat using its underseat strap. Place seat on bike, its at this stage it goes tits up cos you then have to get the piss flaps on the tail pack behind the panniers and the overseat velcro for the pannies under the tailpack, tie the panniers to the footpegs, bungee the tailpack using the long bottom retained bungees, bungee the addition four cords for the tailpack to whatever and bungee the panniers to feck. I then have bits of nylon tie down hanging all over and bungees all over the place and its taken the best part of an hour to convert a nice looking bike into a shed....
