Warning Triangle / Yellow Vest?

Afternoon all!

I'm just planning a trip to France for a weeks bimbling around. I've been checking out the laws on what we need to take with us. Cage drivers need warning trianlges and yellow vests, and most of the online advice I've found says bikers don't, but annoyingly, some websites have said bikers do require these items, and some say we will "soon". But doesn't tell me when soon is!

Does anyone have a definitive on this please? I'm pretty certain I don't need these items, but I would like someone who's been before / regularly to tell me too. I don't really fanct taking a risk on a fine.

Also, is there anything I do need to take? By law, I mean?

Many thanks,

Gringo.

Travelled in France on the BB for the last 3 years, never had warning triangle but a hi viz vest is mandatory which you need to put on if you break down. Oh and don't forget your GB badge have seen people getting pulled coming out of ferry port for not having one, cars and bikes!

Riding in france

HI, Just for info, you need headlight on all the time in France or roadside on the spot fines. Found this out a few years ago when my friend Jim was stopped and fines by the gendarmes. I ride with my HID light on all the time anyway.

Most of Europe you are required to carry spare bulbs as well. I just tape them well padded with bubble wrap in a small waterproof box somewhere inside the fairing.

Good luck

Clueless in most things
To be honest Hi viz jackets fold so small now that I always carry one just in case in the tail section where the tool kit is wether riding in Europe or the U.K.

Bikes don't need a triangle - where would you put it anyway? That said, GetGeared do a flexible triangle, stitched onto a bright white nylon "sock" that goes over your helmet, hey presto a warning triangle. I bought one because I like the idea anyway.
Spare bulb, hi vis jacket seem to be the madatory euro additions for bikers if you are very keen to stay on the correct side of the letter of the law.

Here is the link to the helmet triangle

Just to pick up on one point..
You do not need a GB sticker any more.. You DO need EITHER a GB sticker or an EU sticker ( or, as is common nowadays, the EU sign on the left hand side of the number plate )
