Why on Earth did Triumph name their big lump "rocket"? They are more plodding than a Harley on a go slow

I take it you haven't ridden one then ?

Rapid things for that sort of bike!

A friend has one, he got it because his days of speed are over, we were going out for a meal on Thursday evening & one came up behind us, I moved to the left to let him pass, as we approached a hill he struggled to even keep up with us, we were in the car.
Maybe it is quick for it's class but it couldn't beat a slug at a wake.

Sorry Derek, what little credibility you had left was lost when you said you had a friend in the first two words.

Wrong wrong wrong ! you are assuming the rider wanted to overtake as I would have & maybe you would & I have ridden one so doubt very much it was any fault of the bike unless it had a problem

More likely it was the rider thinking I'm going to keep well away from these old codgers :D

Firstly when I say friend I mean ex colleague.

Secondly the guy behind us came so close up my arse end I thought I’d have to marry him, there was enough room for him to get to the head of the traffic but his bike said “no”

Perhaps it had been "fixed" by an internet "expert" :p

Sorry mate but I know for a fact they are quick enough to overtake your tin box without much effort so that particular bike or rider at fault but not all Rocket's as you are suggesting ;)

There are usually one or two at Sherburn, none of them have ever passed me.

I had a nice meal with Mrs A, my mum and my sister in law from Oz.

I had the grilled Camembert, Mrs A and mum had scampi and Oz had a Brie ploughmans.

No self-respecting ploughman ever ate brie. Brie makes good polyfilla but that's about it. Takes a long time to harden though and smells awful.

    I like Brie.

Prefer a nice strong creamy Stilton though.

    Skint people often are slim
    Anorexics are not healthy.

For small holes, toothpaste makes a much better polyfilla.

Brie doesn't smell so bad once it's warmed and out of the oven. One does need fresh, crusty bread and a decent jam or chutney though.
