Looking at Vango Beta 450XL, the Vango Omega 450XL, and the Outwell Rockwell 3. Differences I can see are that the Vangos differ in materials used ie. the Beta uses a PE groundsheet, whereas the Omega uses a 70D (which is a lot thinner but lighter) neither are fully sewn in.
The Outwell is fully sewn in PE groundsheet, but the pack weight comes in at 12.5kg, whereas the Vangos are 8ish (Beta) and 6ish (Omega). Anyone had any experience with any of them, and how you get on with it loaded on the bird?

We still have a Sunncamp MX tourer plus which has only been used once...

Up for ?70 if anyone wants a cheap biking tent (its even got a garage @tu*)

Best of luck,

Cheers Rolfy, but think I'm right in saying pack size is quite heavy?

I vaguely remember a drunken conversation with a guy at the Rock and Blues bike rally a couple of weeks ago and he was saying that Vango had gone bust...

Currently got a vango beta 450. It fits on the bike quite well, as always the poles are the problem.
I turned up to the last bash in Thetford with it. It won't fit the bike inside, but it'll fit just about everything else.
I'm quite tall and got the 450 as I can sleep sideways compared to how they think I should sleep, and my feet and head stay clear of the tent sides.
The odd bits of Vango kit I have are all well designed and made of good stuff. I can't comment on the Outwell kit I'm afraid.

Have you got the XL version as I think that's a bit taller?
