Ferries
Just had a look at Ferry info.
Plymouth to Santander crossing Wednesday 25th Oct @1230 arrives Santander Thurs 0900.
Return departs Santander Monday 30th Oct @1900 arrives Plymouth Tues @1800.
Costs ?119.59 return for Bike and rider.
Portsmouth/Santander or Portsmouth/Bilbao was 550 euro's with similar dates and times of crossings.

Seriously though, it won't be snowing, but it'll be cool until you get about half way down. I've done Valencia for 3 consecutive years now (not last year as I was in Oz) and I ride up from Malaga. Give us a shout Hippo & we'll meet up. Suspect Paul & Trudi will join us too.
Thats good value for money compared to peak crossing prices!
As for the distance ??? I thought you Barge boyz owned Barges to do miles? I'd not think twice about doing that distance on any of my bikes although the Gixer would fall apart on route 'cos it's a Suzuki
