Our GP sent Bev to see an opthalmologist in December, he said that Bev’s blood tests showed she isn’t on enough thyroxin, she went back to the GP & he said he’d refer her to an endocrinologist, she rang the Hospital, no referral, she rang the GP, he reckons not to know anything about referring to an endocrinologist but now says he’ll refer her to a neurologist, this was all relayed via the receptionist, total wankers both of them.

Sounds like you need a criminologist.

One Doctor is an alky who travels from Sheffield when he can be bothered, the other is a fifty odd year old wannabe rock singer, the little bit of hair he has is in a pony tail.

I've never had much time for GPs. Jacks of all trades, masters of none.
I'd rather be treated by a vet.

Bev has had a problem with a very painful shoulder for a couple of years, it is being treated with steroid injections, during lockdown Doctors were not seeing patients so she went without her injections, she developed this problem with her eyes & the Doctor agreed to see her, he googled it & told her he thought she had myasthenia gravis, whilst she was there she asked for her injection, he replied “oh, we’ll deal with that later let’s get your eyes sorted first” that was August last year, she still has not had her injection & her eyes are getting worse.

Reply from brother

Re Myesghenia ..... one of the symptoms is drooping eyelids and or double vision. I had the former. Also had a bit of vertical double vision intermittently. eg double window millions, and things like that.

Bev’s eyelids are not drooping they close suddenly for several seconds, she’s not driven since August because of it

Bev phoned the Hospital today to inform them of change of address for her appointment, the Neurologist then said “oh, I wrote to your Doctor on 20th Jan, from the basic information he has given me I don’t think there’s anything I can do”
Bev rang the Doctor, eventually when the answered the receptionist said “I’ll get the Doctor to ring you” the Doctor didn’t ring, we are going to surprise him with a personal visit tomorrow.

I'd be equally questioning the consultant's view - based on what you said before.

My brother took a while to find the right consultant who knew what he was taking about.

The Neurologist advised to refer Bev to an Ophthalmologist, our GP failed to tell him she’d already seen one
