Unexplainable urges

Consider this.. For the past 20 years every car I have owned has been a big boys dinky toy ( Smart cars and the like ) Why the sudden urge to get a grown ups car after all that time I think IS pretty strange !
The only urge I ever scratched in car terms is owning something ‘rather special’ for a year while I was still working, no way would I be able to justify it after packing up. Glad I did it. Really glad!

so I repeat…JFDI!
ps just don’t get a diesel:sisi1

You see, we have a rather limited income ( putting it mildly ).
I want to live a LONG time yet ( obviously no idea how long either of us will last ) and would hate to have to give up on stuff later because of a whimsical unneeded purchase now

You can pick them up pretty cheap but as you I am sure know any problems can write them off.

Joking aside, personally I think the X5 is a far better car and a wiser buy. But not necessarily a whimsical urge!

Please don't get a Range Rover. I have a pathological hate for Range Rover drivers. If there's been one constant throughout my 40+ years of biking it's been that they are driven by absolute cnuts.

There may be a decent one out there but I've yet to meet one. There's something about Range Rover ownership that turns them into the kind of people that make Audi drivers seem polite and reserved when driving.

I shall be keeping the fabulous SLK as the Dacia peasants salute and bow as I roll by.
The SLK is an amazing used buy now. Really silly money for some ofmthem…and they weirdly look a lot better now than they did from new. Same with XJS, thing of beauty now, laughed at on release…albeit it did replace the E Type!

Do get a diesel. If you're going to do it then do it properly.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I heard something about used car prices going through the roof :sisi2:

Only SLKs. It’s my followers from my influencer accounts that make it happen.

Come on Dirk. I’d park nearby so that you could admire (from a distance). You could bring associates so you could collectively bow as I drive away.
