Uk or Import please?

It's probably been asked before but how can you tell if your 'bird is a UK bike or a UK spec import? Is there a way of telling from the vin plate, is it the functions avaliable on the clocks? Silverone and I have pondered over this and to be honest I have no idea, can anyone shed some light on this subject, if only so I can say " ah, well you see it's like this.......

If you call Honda(motorcycles)UK on 01753 590510,and give them your frame number,they'll be able to tell you whether it's an import or not.

If it's digital dash an import bike can switch from KPH to MPH but the Odometer remains in Km's, that's about the easiest check. You might still have the odd white sticker left on the frame as well that has the country code on it.
