It happened about 40 miles from me
BUT
we have since had a MUCH closer encounter since then
Something was seen by 100's of people in Thetford
A UFO was seen in the sky that eventually, after hovering for about 2 minutes, came very close to landing on the common ( about 500yds from me )
Given the amount of military activity we get around here, I would normally take no notice. but as it got lower there was no sound
It buggered around for a minute or so then went straight up disappearing in cloud
3 or 4 minuted later we had jets appear from Lakenheath and Marham, then helicopters ( no idea where they came from
All this happened about 7pm on a July evening so no half sighting in gloomy conditions

Rendlesham was acknowled to be our own SAS pulling the chain of the US forces as a piss take - allegedly

I once saw some strange lights hovering in the sky from my back garden in Bletchley. It was a cold winters eve with clear sky shortly after sunset.
I walked out into the garden to get the dog in & there they were, 3 bright lights in a vertical row. I noticed them as I was into astronomy & doing a degree course at the time so was familiar with the sky view looking towards Orion. As I watched, first the lower of the three lights disappeared. Less than a minute later the 2nd one went, followed by the 3rd & final light. I rushed inside, took a note of the time & approx position I'm the sky as I thought it was something I could bring up during my next tutorial.
The next day there were mass reports of UFOs with one witness claiming they followed his car as he drove towards Buckingham. Another reported the lights moving around before finally flying off 'too quickly to be normal aircraft' .
Now, as I mentioned, I was studying for an astronomy degree at the time so a little research was needed here.
After some extensive research over 30 minutes I discovered that in the sky at that exact time we're 3 iridium network satellites and with the sun below the horizon but taking into account the orbital height, it was the sun reflecting off the satellites. But since when did facts get in the way of a good news story.

My Mother always claims that she saw a UFO years before I was born, she described it as looking like a suppository producing a sound of cracked bells, as my Mother was alcoholic we dismissed her claims, at my Father’s funeral in 2001 our old next door but one neighbour George wager who was also our Postman when we were growing up was telling us tales from our childhood, he said that one morning he got up at 3am to get ready to go to work, he stepped out of his house at 3.35 to get his bicycle out of his shed, he suddenly heard the most horrendous noise & looked to the railway embankment & saw a UFO, his description matched that of my Mother’s, he never spoke of it up till this point as he thought he would be ridiculed.
Story is that at the time SAS tested UK airfield defences.
They parachuted in but didn't know the yanks had a new radar that spotted them.
They were robustly "interviewed" but refused to say anything.
The yanks when questioning them kept referring to them as aliens.
Eventually MOD intervened and they were released considerably roughed up.
Unsurprisingly they decided they would get even and launched a three night effort to make the yanks look like idiots.
It was so successful that MOD were worried about the truth embarrassing the yanks so told them to keep stum.
I believe something suitable was delivered to the base to make it clear, but again the US troops didn't want to lose face after creating such a furore.

The galaxy is on Orions belt, except there's no galaxy on Orions belt - it was the name of the catI think that in Men in Black they were looking for the jewel in Orion or sumfink

The Men in Black movies were a 3 part documentary about how aliens first landed on Earth and made contact with humankind.
Unfortunately their search for intelligent life drew a blank over there so the latest approach is to park their spaceships in France.
They then infiltrate the UK masquerading as humans. The plan is to study us while pretending to be just like us.
In time they will reveal themselves to us... although what their intentions will be then are unknown.

Why do abductees in USA weigh in about 300lbs, have 1/2 the normal set of teeth
Surely aliens would abduct stunners ???

With all of the fancy equipment we now possess, the photos and videos look like they were taken with a potato !! Grainy and not very clear !

That I can understand
The subject is proly at least a mile+ away and the pictures are blown up way beyond what is reasonable for most modern equipment used by the general public
