After a bit of info, if anybody has any to give. Going to S.Germany next year, Berchesgarten avoiding highways & tolls. So wondered if any peeps had any experiance of places to stay near or on the way. Going to take day n half to get there, so no rush.

Any info gratefully received, tho maybe not listened to :-0)

Day and a half from Calais perhaps @tu* using Motorways

Not from Plymouth or Bridgend

700 miles form Calais
 
We will be heading for Austria in July mate so will let you know how it goes.

We're getting the Chunnel over then down through Belgium but we're taking 3 days to get all the way down there coz we want to take it easy !

Gonna try and mix it up with Motorways and A type roads, so will see how it goes !

Day 1 - Fyvie to Nunsmere Hall Hotel (Nr Chester - 395 miles)
Day 2 - Nunsmere Hall Hotel to Folkstone (260 miles)
Day 3 - Chunnel to Frogland then onto Trier (Germany - 295 miles)
Day 4 - Trier to Titisee (Germany - 210 miles)
Day 5 - Titisee to Trujen (Austria - 174 miles)
Day 6 to 9 - Hotel Reiderhof in the Austrian Tyrol
Day 10 - Trujen to Heidelberg (Germany - 270 miles)
Day 11 - Heidelberg to Rochefort (Belgium - 225 miles)
Day 12 - Rochefort to Chunnel (France - 195 miles)
Day 13 - Folkstone to Holmes Chapel (261 miles)
Day 14 - homeski (395 miles)

Weve got a hotel booked on the 17th July mate, the Hotel Sonneneck !

Otherwise we could have had a liter or two !!

Shall have to meet for a litre then Russ!!

I shall probably be there the from the 14th until we leave to come home on the Friday 19th @tu*
But shall be running up to Stuttgart for 1 night to see my daughter, probably the tuesday night @tu*

There is a B&B in Menshenshwand in the Black forest that i use @tu* but i know Phil who runs it was in a bad way health wise and i think it may have changed hands :bang:
If it is Phil and Kate who run it still then i shall give you the link to it cos it's well worth a stay even for 1 night if passing through @tu*

I hired a bike in Munich and did a long weekend last year including the Berchesgarten area (make sure you do the Rossfeldstrasse!) :
