Good luck with the repair mate. Just double checked the bay unfortunately 2 lh panels available in red for less than ?90 and Jaws got some nose cones for ?150'ish(unpainted) couldnt find a foot brake lever, but I am sure if you ask Jaws he could help with that.

Ohhhh and so busy looking at getting the bike back on the road forgot to say sorry about the spill. Glad you ok though @tu*

Looks like an easy repair

The expensive bits are the headlight, radiator and clocks, If they are OK its a very easy repair.

Straightening the metal assembly that holds the nose cone is bloody tricky, so I suggest simply buy a new one from David Silver for ?70 if its bent.

Where are you?

Plastic weld repair and respray to better than Honda new with Decals lacquered in should be circa ?1200 tops. Honda genuine decals are bloody expensive, ?50 each for side ones from david silver.

I found a UK based set for whole bike, high quality with true mirror silver for ?19 delivered. They are good copies but not *exactly* the same as OE ones. You pays your money and takes your choice.

Good Luck

Sorry to hear about your drop and injury.
I'm with the masses.
Tell the Ins asap that you want to self repair and will NOT be making a claim, and get it sorted yourself when the hand's better.

You will probably make up the cost over a couple of years against what the Ins loadings would be.

Good luck with it.
Murt.

Sorry for your loss, gutted for you.

PS. Chances are your frame is fucked now also. have you checked it? Putting frame sliders where you had them is unwise as the frame has little strength at point as it is just hollow alu.

Headlights, clocks, radiator seem to fine -borne up by no mention on insurance estimate@tu*

New nose cone bracket thingy maybe unpreventable

In Glasgow, though bike ended up in insurance approved repairer in Yorkshire:dunno:

The decals are fekking expensive for that price they should prevent any damage to fairings

Cheers will do if need help:bow:

Well following Lumpy's lead, contacted insurers today to ask "Can I have my bike back"

Said that having had the estimate for the repairs, and as they were obliged to use dealer parts and with high labour costs, thought that it would be possible to repair more cheaply myself.

The spill involved no one else, no one else's property was damaged, so could I take back and repair without making a claim. They have agreed that bike can be returned, but will have to make further checks to see if it should remain on system as total loss (Cat D)

So that's the story so far

Thanks and hopefully your wrong@tu*

Never got a chance to have a look, but estimate from insurer never mentioned frame damage, just that sheared bolt would need to be extracted so hoping its all ok

If its not I will be fekked now:eek:

If you are allowed to have the bike back without making a claim do not forget they know you had an accident and as you have notified them it is likely to be on the Insurance database. Do not fall into the trap of when applying for insurance renewal do not forget to mention this spill because if you have another it could come back to bite you in the man8um Insurance companys do not need much of an excuse nowadays to not pay out. So be careful!

Do you have pics of the scratches? Are all black ones the same black, or would it need painted to match? What decals, if any, are on it? How much is cheap?

I only ask as the black one fitted to mine sounds a bit more scratched than yours. If the black one gets fitted to a red one, itt's gonna need painting no matter what.

I could be a middle-man, who gets a better pannel on my bike, whilst reducing the overall cost for the repairs to the red one.

Just a suggestion. If I'm out of order please be gentle fl4g71

I will try and get a pic this weekend but it's buried in the back of my shed in a big box.

Not all blacks are the same, this one is Pearl Prism Black from a '99 model and is a pearlescent colour.

they look shit with no decals, too much black, one guy did it. Pants. Mini indicators are dangerous too, I'd rather have Mr Myopia see mine. Trouble is the big fuck off indicators on the front unless you remove the fairing.

This Blackbird Street fighter 2 fairing from Germany may work..............

I could pretend to be Daft Vader
