Please don't. In fact, scrap the programme all together, it'll never be the same without Clarkson, May and Short Arse.

If the BBC must have a motoring programme, then re-name it and change the format.

Been there, and had one

It would make more sense to bring in 5th Gear as they are more entertaining

So when any other program loses its hosts, do they have to change the format and name? There has been countless shows that have had different hosts, but the same format, over the years!

More importantly, will there ever be a decent programme about biking..?

Very true but Top Gear ran with those three for about 22 series (although James May did about 20). They all left together, and that's what makes it a non-starter now.

I disagree. As much as we like the others, I think the new guys bring something else to it. Something a little fresher. Let's be honest, Hammond and May were just Clarksons straight guys. It was his show, he scripted it, he starred in it. At least with the new guys there seems to be some genuine camararderie. Some of the banter seems a lot more genuine, like they are real mates.

I like it.

In my opinion it was like watching the immature schoolboy pranks of thirteen year olds with a good portion of the programme spent giggling at each other. I was waiting for them to start farting and belching.

They had a good comparison test lined up with the Tesla, Volvo and BMW - by all means make it entertaining but where was the information and informed opinions on the cars? Racing round a multi story car park and concluding by 'yeah, we would have the fastest' doesn't do it for me.

No idea whatsoever what the Ferrari article was supposed to be about.

As mentioned above, the Fifth Gear team outdo this lot by a million miles, it is entertaining and informative. And Needell and Plato can Drive rings round the Top Gear lot as well.

Rippon still gets my vote, with the bloke from Tomorrow's World a close second.

And to prove the point, just watched Fifth Gear S22 ep 17 - superb from start to finish. Compared older 'classics Golf GTi, AMG E55 and Audi Quattro against new (2013) mid range everyday cars - four pot diesels - with interesting results. Tested the BMW 4 Series. Bit about Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Great stuff, even if it is seven years old.

Well last nights episode was so much better than last weeks, actually enjoyed that. Other than the utter crap they were talking about the cost to repair the RS - the shell was absolutely trashed.

Big respect to Flintoff for doing 200mph in the Jag.....assuming he did it of course......

I remember walking past a Jag dealers in London every day on the way to work when they has a brand spanking new XJ220 in the window for £26k. They couldn't shift them as so many advance orders were cancelled as they repeatedly downgraded the specification.

Wish I had bought one and tucked it away for a rainy day, would be worth a fortune now.

Top gear was shite with the three stooges, clarkson the ego & his two clowns, not seen it since they got sacked but can’t imagine it to have improved much.

Having watched the first episode, I'm not sure it should be called a motoring program, more like men behaving badly
