A colleague on HMS Hermes had an American zippo, it had a clear body & a model of uss jfk that floated on the lighter fluid, he filled it with aviation fluid, when he used it the flame shot up & the ship dropped rapidly.

I have an antique brass Zippo that I bought in the 90s. I was living in Cape Town at the time and working on a drip ship off Namibia. On the ship, I arranged for 50 to be made, customised with a badge of the ship on the front. We only use it to light candles but it seems to need filling every five minutes.
Well I filled both Zippo's up on the 20th and put the anti evaporation bung in the brass one but left it out of the other to test the theory and promptly forgot about them

Just tried both and the brass one fired straight up while the other one needs filling, I would say that proves the theory (y)

Also I just found out you can get a gas burner for genuine Zippo's now, apparently there are 2 sorts and both work well but the "double" uses a shed load of gas so the normal one is preferred by most people

Try filling it with aviation fluid
We used to put a spot of avgas in race bikes to boost the octane and performance a tad and it worked well until some numpty didn't measure properly, put way too much in and melted the motor ...... hence the need for careful calculation and measurement

Is the thing you mean?

BTW, I was sailing on a drill ship, not drip ship
