At one stage I stopped going in to tool shops because I was buying things I liked rather than needed. Stayed out of an Lidl as well.

I went to get brushes for a strimmer a few days ago. They didn't have but I spent €30 on a set of bits, marked €35, and a flexible light on a magnetic base. Good strong magnetic. Oh, and a pack of hacksaw blades.

That cost €30 as well, strangely, he was in good humour. I mentioned that I was staying out of tool shops. He was highly amused.

Is it weird having your old bike back?
No. I had two Birds at the time. Both were for sale. They eventually both sold but as time went by I regretted selling the early carb version as it was so well sorted. It’s been kept in the finest of fettle, garaged and still rides as it should having covered very minimal miles since I sold it. Happy days, glad to have it back with me. Grateful to the ‘interim’ custodian !
