CANCELLED - SOMEONE ELSE CAN SORT IT

Well - I had thought of sorting something small and fun for people that fancied a short cheap meet up.

but following the first response, I am not going to bother.

Never worth the aggro

Never had any plan to compete - never thought this site was about competing on meets.

If people can;t go they won't

a number of people pm'd emailed and text me asking if I would do similar to last year - the answer now is NO

Ok - I am looking into some options for an SOSB site. Date will probably be earlyish in April. Nothing set or confirmed, just thought I'd let you know I'm having a think!!

thanx then - it was put as far from the bash as poss - further than last year

No intention at all to compete - as per usual, just a different option .


It isn't the same at all - no entertainment, just a one or two night meet up as prevously planned

if it was anything like the Victoria pub meet you organised where we camped around a car park with no facilitys, where 8 turned up and YOU didnt, it wont be much of a miss will it ??, Jaws has been trying for YEARS to sort a tidy bash with every Tom Dick and Harry seemingly trying to fuck it up, I'm NOT accusing YOU of doing the same, it's just the timing of your "thought" when Rolfie is trying so hard to get a properly organised event off the ground, I apologise if my first post comes over that way, maybe a simple "no we aint going" would have sufficed, but I also know the damage that "thoughts" like the original one above can do to Dave or Johns bash'es if I didnt give MY reasons. :dunno:

AND we all know that there was a very valid reason for her non-attendance in the end, having had an accident the week before and starting a new job the day after.

This is a Bird rider (OK so she's female, DEAL WITH IT!) who participates regularly on the forum, rides her Bird far more than a lot on here (yes, us included), attends a lot of Bird meets, including ones where it's a 4 hour ride each way to get to a 1-day meet, and actually tries to get us together more often. Some gratitude!

How would you feel in her place?

Perhaps if it was put into the rideout planner thread thing (where ever that is now) it wouldn't have caused a problem. It seems as soon as the word "BASH" get thrown in it raises problems.

I can see where Smix is coming from, as it is good to have a meet somewhere where friends from all over the country can get together. After all when Lumpy organise a meet at his house, and with his own generousity puts peeps up over night nothing is thought of it, let alone any suggetion of competion.

I can also get the jist ( even if very bluntly put) of what Ian is saying, but if I remember correctly Ian didnt you attend all 3 Bashes last year. The money situation is a valued point as some peeps cant afford all plus other family amusments, something I often overlook as I'm lucky enough to be able to afford it, but it's not Smixxy's fault you aren't able too at the moment.

I gave Rolfy my word I would support him and my point of honour I made sure I was the first to pay him in full. Now if something else pops up in the calander I liked, I would go to that as well.
