no, not my bike(s),

but whilst out with Andrea (over here on a visit) yesterday, some twat breaks into my car and thieves her handbag, which was in the boot, so all her english and euro cash is away, her phone, bank card, obviously her bag and purse, air tickets (fortunately I had a copy) and her natioanl ID card which is part of her passport all bloody gone.

Bastards need stringing up with feckin barbed wire from their testicles and eyelids and then beaten into a pulp with a nail studded baseball bat :bandit:

What sort of feckin messages does this send out to a visitor to this country? I've been to germany most weekends in the last 2.5 years and not a bit of trouble like this, even left the keys to my bike in it overnight once (yeh, hoping someone would take the Strom, didn't work).

Cap it all, just as we were setting off for a stroll, a car pulled into the same carpark, and out of all the free parking area, parks up about 15 feet away, thought nowt of it at the time, but we were only gone 25 minutes, and when we got back, this car had already gone ........ then I saw the damage to my motor.
Now I can remember most of the reg number of the car (got a thing about numbers :dunno: ) and the make of the car, so when I reported it to the ever helpful (NOT!) police, their response?

"Sorry, we cannot take a partial number, we need the whole number" !!!  YEH, SO HOW COME YOU ONLY NEED A PARTIAL TO GET TRACKED FOR A SPEEDING OFFENCE THEN! FOOKIN LAZY C*NTS

Fer fooks sake I gave 'em L208?KW or L708?KW and it was a red Rover 214i four door model ......... how much fecking more do you need???? a signed confession dragged out by the victim???

Not very fooking happy as you can tell, car has got a lot of internal damage from broken glass tearing the seats, although not my problem as such, but I just feckin dispair of these scumbags.

then to add icing to the cake, when I get Andrea to the airport today, having arranged a temporary passport to meet us there, some fookwit in the queue behind us starts mouthing off about why she was getting special treatment with her tickets and passports (there was an airport offical helping, cos he had her temp passport), so I had a less than quiet word with him, and suggested that if he didn't want the use of an airport wheelchair (for which he'd have to pay extra) he'd best shut his feckin gob.

Unfortunately he did.

rant cooling gently

I KNOW they're talking shite, it's just coming across LOUD and CLEAR from the Cambridgeshire mob, they they simply are not interested in doing anything other than issuing another crime number for the insurance company.

I'm not saying the Red Rover had anything to do with the offence, but they owners might have seen something that would help in recovering her stuff.
On the other hand, the owner might already be known to the police as a "bad 'un" who does this sort of thing.
Either way, I feel as a feckin tax payer the relevant authority should at least follow this up, even only to discount it!!!

Probably not much help but on them bored winter evenings I often go looking for car motor insurance quotes online and one of them, maybe Esure or First Alternative and maybe others too already have details of the car type etc when all I do is put in a Reg No, so just a thought if you went to one of these sites you might be able to work out the eventual number that matches the car make etc ?

Does that make sense ??

Sorry to hear of your theft Mike. I remember a similar thing in Caen about 5 years ago. Been staying at the Ibis hotel in the centre for a few days short break and went out on the D-Day beaches on a Sunday. Drove back to Caen and parked the car in the centre near the marina and went off to get a beer. The car park had 2 cars in it, but on coming back to the car noticed an old white Fiat Uno behind mine that disappeared pronto when the driver saw me heading to my car. I thought it a bit odd, and noted down a bit of the cars plate before driving round to the hotel. Only on locking the car again I noticed that the drivers door lock had been smashed, probably by a screwdriver. I went to French plod as it was a company car, and got the same response. ie recorded the crime but not interested in any other details. I mean, a great big f#'#ing car park and only one other car right by mine. I dont expect them to call out the CRS, but as a coincidence, its got to be worth a look hasnt it?
Hope you are feeling happier now and just remember, most people are OK, its just a small number of scumbags that make life occasionally miserable for the rest of us.
PS. I wonder if this was the same white Fiat Uno that was supposed to be in the tunnel in Princess Di's accident? Might as well keep the pathetic conspiracy theory going!

Now I seem to remember someone else posting a link to something like that, via the RAC if my memory serves me correctly, twas accurate at the time cos I'd only just bought my Blackbird from to Taz m/c, and that transaction was recorded (i.e. last change of owner coincided with my purchase).

If anyone has this link, can ya post it on here please.

RHINO,

From that link, I would guess that it would not take a lifetime for someone to find out what the car is, who (if anyone) is the registered owner, and where (approx) they reside.
My beef is that the Cambridgeshire plod don't seem to want to bother.

At worst case it would take half an hour to do the searches i.e.
L208 (A to Z)KW
(ignoring the letters that aren't used of course),
and if none of those correspond to a Red Rover 214i, then they only have to do
L708 (A to Z)KW.

Fully accept that it is possible, don't see why the police won't.

Daft thing is though, the phone is a german pay-as-you-go which only accepts Euros, so the phone is effectively useless to them over here, her bank card is again, not accepted over here, (not Maestro/Switch or similiar), so whilst the cash can be used, the real hassle is getting it all replaced ..... and the damage to the car being sorted.

Just the principle of the matter, she works for her things, I work for mine, why cannot these lickle bastids go and get a job instead of making hassle in everyone elses lives.

twats.

oops Edited!

on closer investigation found the number checker, and although I couldn't find a vehicle close to what I believe it to be, that said, none of my bikes are listed on the database either!, nor are my last two cars!

thanks anyway!
