After dropping the GS ( on my foot ! ) it got me thinking.... was it tome to ditch the 1200 and look for something still able to bang out big miles on and still of the Adventure genre but smaller and lighter..

Started comparing weights of bikes from 700cc up..
They all seem to come in around the 220k mark
A 1966 Bonny in a spec that is sort of Adventure biased weighed in at 166k

You can get a very decent M3 for less than £15k.....

It'll lap any circuit you care to name significantly faster than any motorised cycle.

And with the air conditioning on.

:p
Yup.. there is not a circuit in the world that the lap record is held by a bike..
But while you are sitting there with air con and slowly withering inside, I will be pumped up, Adrenalin if full flow and looking forward to the next life affirming adventure

I managed to drop my ZZR1400 a couple of years ago in Sardinia , at a standstill, but as it was on a gravel carpark I couldn’t lift it. That’s when I managed to tear my hamstring. Ow, very very painful. I finally got it lifted with the help of a passing motorist. Then with a broken Rh footrest had 4 days riding home only able to limp along when I got off. 260+kg is too much.

A had an 1800 fully dressed Wing for while three years ago..670kg on the weigh bridge.. Picked that bugger up ok, and can still pick up the BMW1200 GS LC ok ( as I found out a couple of weeks ago ! )

Its not picking them up if I drop them.. its dropping them in the first place !

Amended for,you....:p

If you have never had an adrenaline rush driving a car on track then you either haven't done it or weren't doing it right!!

The biggest adrenaline rush I ever had in a car was being driven round Modena in a Ferrari f360 by a Formula 3 driver.....he was still accelerating going into a roundabout when I would have been on the brakes about 200 yards earlier.

Definitely a life changing experience:yikes:

Are we talking standard production bike Vs standard production car?

Or Bore-mula 1?

I'm as slow as feck, but I'd put money on beating Andrew round a track.

Both..
It is purely down to the fact a car has four lumps of rubber in contact and can out corner bikes with ease

Why take him to a track? Just duff him up in a local park somewhere.

Assuming rider and driver of equal skill. No way in God’s boots could I corner any car faster than Rossi could corner a C90. Fact.

Hang on a minute !
Rossi and you have equal skill ?

Seriously, you can check it... places like brands and doni for instance.. lap record held by cars... In fact I seem to remember even the F3 cars lap faster than GP bikes
