The Ultimate Answer

Some time ago a group of hyper-intelligent pan dimensional beings decided to finally answer the great question of Life, The Universe and Everything.

To this end they built an incredibly powerful computer, Deep Thought. After the great computer programme had run (a very quick seven and a half million years) the answer was announced.

The Ultimate answer to Life, the Universe and Everything is...

(You're not going to like it...)

Is...

Spooky or what, but isn't that the infamous tyre pressure for the Blackbird!!

(Or have I just pointed out the obvious, which has been mentioned in past posts and I'm going to be cursed with eternal flames...)

The Answer

The Question

It has been shown that there is an answer to the great question of life, the universe and everything. It was computed by Deep Thought, but really didn't seem to provide , well... an answer.

The great computer kindly pointed out that what the problem really was that no-one knew the question. Accordingly, the computer designed its successor, the Earth, to find the question to the ultimate answer. However, due to a slight Golgafrincham problem, and a small hooha with some Vogons the program went a bit wrong. The whole problem remains just as mysterious as it always has been, but a little more frustrating.

I think anyone with a sense of humour would enjoy a Pratchett my faves are the Witches and the City Watch(nightshift) ones Plus Small Gods. Only trouble is you can get labelled as a right anorak if you really get in it.

We apologise for the inconvenience.

So apt, the message from the Dolphins was just as enlightening......

So long, and thanks for all the fish

Terry Pratchett Fans Untie!

It's like why I fall about whenever anyone mentions hard luggage; and I reckon whether they know it or not, the Quineys luggage must also be made of sapient pearwood because they went on a picnic and (apparently) got a 19 course banquet for 36 (complete with candelabra and sideboard, so I was told) out of their luggage!!

I couldn't possibly choose my favourite. I do retain a very soft spot for Rincewind and Commander Vimes and feel I have an affinity with Mrs Weatherwax. But then others might suggest more likely that I have an affinity with one of the Guilds (no, not the ASSASSINS!!)

Beware all those speaking quietly in capital letters.

May you live in interesting times (esp some of you) (she added spitefully LOL)

Jenny
