A mate of mine suggests the RSV MILLE.
Now have the offer to ride one on Saturday!!!!
I will try it and let you know.

Any comments from anyone?

why is that??? Well, he just doesn't have much comparison, but it is his dream bike.

I did remember after I posted that, I do know someone else who has one, not the new one but the one before. He has toured all over Belgium/France etc on it. He doesn't have any complaints that I know of. Loves it. I could get him to email you if you wanted to know anything more technical.

He has had his for sometime now. It seems to be alot of fun and even though he is a very tall bloke 6foot plus, he finds it comfortable.

I don't think that he has had any problem with parts etc, but I guess it all depends on if you buy the bike from an Aprillia dealership or not. My brothers is very new so still under warranty and the dealer shop is just in the next town I think.

Anyway, if you want me to ask Paul if he would email you I shall drop him a line to see if its okay. I think he would be able to answer most questions.

Same in this neck of the woods.. Bloody fantastic bikes, but seem to be off the road waiting minor spares most of the yeas.. and we have the 3rd biggest Aprilia dealer just 10 minutes away !
Even they cannot get any parts for the bloody things

Try to get the RSVR there are big differences in the package the R has lots of goodies added at good value for money.

Wheels
Suspension
Brakes

Are all different.

Ita a much better track tool if you are planning on going that way.

My mate has one and rides the bollocks of it, it stays with the bird all the way to 160,

k's of course !!!!!..

Petrosc - I've had many a ride on an RSV-R Mille, a mate of mine has one, I took it over for a great 250 mile blast through the Loire Valley last May. I've also ridden it round town in Southampton a bit and it behaves well.

Stonking engine, impecable handling, for me I found the seat height lovely and tall for such a focused sportsbike........the layout of the switchgear's shite though (you'll see what I mean when you take one out!)

As mentioned in the above responses the after sales is atrocious - you're talking waiting months is some cases for simple items.

The 'R' has lighter wheels, Ohlins shocks and steering damper, radial brakes (on the lastest one) and a different chip to the standard RSV Mille.

Both models feature a slipper clutch that is prone to playing up - the idea is that with such high compression the slipper stops the rear wheel slipping or locking on downchanges, however I know of two people who's bikes clutches slipped from new when they gave it a handful in 5th or 6th.

After my spell on one I feel that even at 6'4" I could live with it. The decals are just stuck on the fairing and prone to peeling off of their own accord. But apart from the above they're bloody great.

My mate Lee went out on Sunday and a stone chipped his front fork leg - under compression the chip fooked the fork seal and it began weeping - took it to the dealer who said it can't be done under warranty - ?1400 thank you very much!

Oh and don't put fully synthetic oil in one for fooks sake - it invalidates your warranty................

If it was me I'd stick with an SP1 or 2, possibly blag a ride on that new Suzuki SV1000 - now that does look fun..................

Thanks for all that mate.. Great..
But I know of two guys in Stoke who have the Mille
and they never had any trouble with them....

I have just found, also, an SP1, same colours and everything for the right price, same reg thats done 4150 miles.

The difference is that for another grand, I can have a brand new Mille with 3 years guaranty.

I am definately having the demo out.. I ll let you know how I get on with it.

Cheers
