Scientists in eastern China on Monday announced the creation of a temporary “artificial sun” over six times hotter than the core of the real sun, marking an important step toward building the world’s first nuclear fusion power plant.
Once this power is harnessed large scale renewable energy will be mostly redundant, it would be far cheaper and better for the environment if mitigating technologies had been put in place for existing base load power technologies until fusion is ready.
