Anyone else watch this and think "we're completely fooked"...?
Neither candidate impressed me. BoJo, as usual, was all bluster.... Hunt just wanted to point score against BoJo. I don't believe Hunt is commited to getting us out of the EU and I don't think BoJo has any idea how to get us out.
The general concensus seems to be that although Hunt came out better (apparently), it's probably too late as most of the Tory membership have already voted. Polls based on that gave BoJo a 60%/40% lead.
One thing is for sure.... with BoJo's refusal to back Kim Darroch we now know that he doesn't have the backbone to stand up to the Trumpet..... so how's he going to face off against the EU's professional bureaucratic beasts...?
You could say that he was thinking of the wider issues i.e. staying cosy with Trump for better trade deals, etc. but by throwing Darroch to the lions he's undoubtedly pissed off many government civil servants. How is he going to play hardball with the EU when the civil service that he will be relying on can't trust him...?
I now have a fair idea what the Yank voters were faced with when given the choice between The Trumpet and Clinton.
I'm glad we don't have to vote on this because I couldn't choose either one.
