At least 49 dead and 20 seriously injured during two attacks by gun people (three men and a burd) on two mosques in New Zealand.

Having been there on several occasions, NZ is one of the last places on earth I'd expect to hear of such an atrocity.

The tiny minority of Muslims who are nutters seem unable to grasp what they do reflects on Muslims every where.
There is an oft repeated maxim.. not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists seem to be Muslims.
Until the loony fringe are reported to authorities by the normal people in Muslim communities so take ownership of at least SOME of the problem, loony non- Muslims are going to continue carrying out such terrible acts.

One of my Indian friends said the same maxim to me in The-Artist-Formerly-Known-As-Bombay a couple of years back.

Thing is, when considering the numbers of people involved, the amount of 'Western' extremists that are prepared to take things to this level is quite small in comparison to the number of nutters that claim to be Muslims that carry out such atrocities. I agree that Muslims need to stand up and be counted and shop the nutters in their midst.

What these muppets who've just carried out these latest attacks in NZ probably don't realise (and I doubt they care) is that the Muslim nutters will prolly retaliate. Big style.

You are only describing the extremists Derek.. All the Muslims I know are perfectly ordinary folk, living ordinary family lives with their 2.5 children

I lived a long chunk of my life in the Middle East and virtually all the Muslims I knew were just like the rest of us.....trying to have a decent life for themselves and their kids. An elderly man slipped on the step entering the petrol station, Bev went to help him to his feet, he shouted at her in Asian & smacked her hands away, she was later told that he had said “take your dirty hands off me unbeliever”
These are just a few of many incidents that heve altered Bev’s opinion of Muslims.
