Hi there, my wife & i are travelling to Switzerland in August.

We'll be docking at Zeebrugge, & intended to have an overnight stay in France.
Can anyone advise of anywhere nice to stay in or around the town of Metz?

Also, can anyone advise of any nice scenic routes to Grindlewald in Switzerland, as an alternative to the motorway?

Does anyone has any info on either of these towns?

thanks
Stevie

The best book by far on the Alps is Motorcycle Journeys Through The Alps by John Hermann - really recommend it. Look on Amazon

Also go to www.alpineroads.com for good advice

here you got some tips from my friend:
I don't know much about the frech part, but at least in Freiburg im Breisgau, go over the border to the Schwarzwald area (Todnau, Todtmoos, Bad Sackingen), then in Switzerland: Aarau, Olten (there get blue route No 2 - not highway), Nebikon, Willisau, Wolhusen (left route No 10), Wiggen (leave route 10 turning left), Schangnau, Thun (take north coast of the lake), Interlaken, Grindelwald.
If you're there you gotta do short tour over sustenpass, gotthardpass, novenapass and grimselpass - one of most beautiful ones in switzerland.
