Glass has been used for various kinds of bottles and utensils, mirrors, windows and more. It is thought to have been first created around 3000 BC, during the bronze age. Egyptian glass beads date back to about 2500 BC.

Ah but did they bring it to Britain? I remember Latin classes at school and the venerable teacher saying that Roman Villas did not have glass in the windows, but perhaps thay did not find out how to make panes of glass until later.

I'm thinking of fitting some Roman glass to my indicator housings and the tail light........can you point me towards the importers of Roman glass please ?????:dunno:

I've Tried............

Plinny, and Winky Dockets R Us but they only do the Roman glass ones in a clear finish.......I can't have them cos they're gay !!!!!:}

So I'll PM Jaws........and failing that, it's gonna be M&P:}

Tell them to add quartz before they fire it and they'll get blue glass:k

But if I put anything blue on my bike won't that slow it down ??? What do we add to the glass to get amber for the indicators and red for the tail light ???:dunno:

Dave......I've e-mailed the Pope to see if he can help. I told him that God rides a Honda so I'm hoping he looks on me as one of his own !!!

Try cochineal spiders for red and amber beads for amber, if that doesn't work go to Halfords and get some spray paint!:beer:

Nah, Moses was a jew, but the good news is that they've been making glass in Mesopotamia for at least 4,000 years so I reckon they must know a trick or two, and it's just round the corner from Israel, where Moses came from:yo:
